Cultural Visit
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, IWC of Zamalek, headed by Mrs. Sanaa Eid
and accompanied by Mrs. Samia Abu Al-Fotouh, the National
Representative, Mrs. Baheya El Maadawi, the vice president and a number
of honourable members, visited the Grand Egyptian Museum on the Giza
Plateau, which is considered the largest in the world. The group enjoyed
a guided tour of select areas, including the Grand Hall and the Grand
Staircase. The Grand Staircase tells the story of the sacred places of
worship, the king, and his relationship with the machine, in addition to
the afterlife and life of the ancient Egyptians. It revealed a surprise
that no one expected. We have artefacts displayed in its exhibition
halls dating back 700 thousand years BC.
The new museum is designed to include newer technologies, such as
virtual reality. At the end of the tour, the group visited the GEM gift
shop, commercial area, and food court and had lunch at one of the
restaurants.
