Support Cervical Cancer Screenings for Underprivileged Women
Beneficiaries 50 women
Cost 1000 JDs

On Thursday 16th January 2025, IWC of Amman President Ms Fadia Yared,
and Committee Members )Messrs. Nuha Asfour, Fatina Muna) visited the
Family Health Care Institute of King Hussein Foundation, and presented a
cheque for one thousand JDs to the Foundation’s Executive Director
Mrs. Hana Mitri, in the presence of Dr Hussein Al-Salem Center’s
Director and Dr Sara Al-Itan, for conducting examinations for fifty
women in Poor areas, including cervical screening (pap-smear).

Dr Sara Al-Itan gave us an overview of the institution’s achievements
in terms of health and education. This institution has served
marginalized areas for forty years.
It provides a wide range of integrated services in one place, such as
vaccinations, child development examinations, women’s health,
pregnancy, family planning, mental health, vision, hearing, speech, and
many other matters.

We congratulate this institution for its great efforts to serve women
and their families. This is the fourth year in a row that IWC of Amman
supported this medical institution, and we hope that it is on the
club’s list yearly.

It is worthwhile mentioning that Cervical cancer is one of the most
preventable and treatable cancers when detected early. However, for many
underprivileged women, accessing routine screenings such as Pap smears
remains a challenge due to financial and systemic barriers. Join us in
the fight against cervical cancer.

“Heartbeat of Humanity” Every beat counts, every action matters

Hand-Over Plastic Caps to Cerebral Palsy Foundation 27 July 2024

In line with International Inner Wheel  slogan ”Heartbeat of
Humanity”  as well as our club vision to beat plastic pollution for a
cleaner environment. On Saturday 27th of July, Inner wheel club of Amman
Presided by Ms. Fadia Yared – accompanied by some of Committee members,
handed over a substantial quantity of plastic caps collected by club
members to the Cerebral palsy Foundation to be passed to “(Green
Wheelz) Initiative” whose aim is to clean the environment through
collecting, sorting and selling the caps to be recycled. Financial
returns of this procedure go to support cerebral palsy patients in terms
of health and education.
It is worthwhile mentioning that the environmental impact of plastic
caps is substantial. When not properly disposed of, they often end up in
our oceans, rivers, and other natural habitats. Marine animals,
mistaking them for food, can suffer from ingestion, leading to injury or
even death. Moreover, plastic caps contribute to the broader problem of
micro plastic pollution, breaking down into tiny particles that
contaminate our water sources and enter the food chain. When caps are
recycled, these caps can be transformed into a variety of new products,
from park benches to playground equipment, and even new packaging
materials.

The Committee of IWC of Amman extend its thanks and gratitude for the
members’ team spirit and constant cooperation in supporting this vital
sustainable project for the last six years. “Heartbeat of Humanity”

They were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Nasreen Qatamish, Director of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Mrs. Abeer Al-Mughrabi, and Mrs. Aya Al-Qasim.

HRH Princess Ghida Talal commended Mrs. Nuha Asfour for her achievements, and expressed delight in collaborating with the club. HRH extended heartfelt thanks to the Inner Wheel Club of Amman for their ongoing support since the center’s establishment. Princess Ghida affirmed that the collaboration and dedication would continue and expressed gratitude to all the club’s members.

On that occasion, Mrs. Nuha received gratefully from HRH a plaque of appreciation and thanks for all the club’s great efforts and continuous support.

Mrs. Nuha Asfour, in turn, thanked HRH for the opportunity to meet, and presented the flag of Inner Wheel Club of Amman. She then added that the club had donated 5,000 dinars earlier this year to support the treatment of children with cancer from Gaza, highlighting that supporting the cancer center is a sustainable project for the club, renewed annually. Additionally, recognizing the importance of continuous support, the club made a further donation of 5,290 dinars to purchase ten PlayStation devices for children in isolation undergoing cancer treatment, to provide them with entertainment and psychological relief. Given that 90% of patients recover with proper treatment, it is essential to pay attention to their mental and emotional well-being simultaneously.

Consequently, the club’s total donation for this year amounts to a total of 10,290 dinars.
