Under the inspiring theme“Heartbeat of Humanity,” the Inner Wheel
Club of Amman Philadelphia, led by Mrs. Maha Shaban, inaugurated the
club’s annual project on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Hitten Medical
Center in the Hitten Camp.
The event was held in the presence of Mrs. Abeer Dajani, Chairman of
District 95 (Egypt & Jordan); Mrs. Suhair Miqdadi, District Treasurer;
Mrs. Nazi Sayeg, honorary member of the Philadelphia Club; along with
several club members and guests.
Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Shereen
Shaheen, Executive Director of the Jordan Medical Aid for Palestinians
(MAP), and a number of center officials. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was
followed by a tour of the newly established and fully equipped Audiogram
Room, which was funded by the club at a cost of 12,000 Jordanian Dinars
so far. Additional contributions are planned before the end of the
current Inner Wheel year.
The audience received a detailed explanation from Mr. Bilal, the
audiometry technician, who noted that more than 2,432 patients suffer
from hearing and conductive hearing loss in the area. The center itself
serves over 125,000 residents of the camp and surrounding neighborhoods.
The Audiogram Room is fully soundproof and designed to conduct hearing
assessments and diagnose auditory issues in both children and adults.
At the conclusion of the visit, attendees learned more about MAP’s
valuable work and services offered to the local community. The club
expressed deep appreciation to the center’s staff for their
dedication, cleanliness, and compassionate service to those in need.
