Mother’s Day and Ramadan Celebrations at Dar Al Yasmin

In an atmosphere of joy and warmth, Dar Al Yasmin, affiliated with Inner Wheel  Club of Cairo – hosted special celebrations for Mother’s Day, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan.

On March 22, the Golden Years group, dedicated to organizing activities for the elderly, arranged a Mother’s Day celebration, featuring various activities and gifts that brought happiness and delight to the residents of the home.

This was followed by a group iftar on March 25, also organized by the Golden Years group, and concluded with a beautiful musical performance by the Golden Years choir, adding a touch of harmony and joy to the occasion.

The event was attended by the esteemed residents of the home and members of the Golden Years group, led by Mrs. Dina Hashish. Representing Inner Wheel Cairo, the event was also attended by Mrs. Poussy Hassanein, Club President, Dr. Wajida Anwar, Dr. Laila Khaled, Vice President and representative of Golden Years, Mrs. Iman Al-Batran, Club Secretary, and Dr. Diaa Marzouk, Club Treasurer.

These activities reflected the spirit of social solidarity and compassion, spreading happiness among the residents.

Elderly Care with Love – A Heartfelt Mother’s Day Celebration

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” Inner Wheel Club of Cairo had the honor of visiting Dr. Sahar El-Sonbaty, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, on Thursday, March 20th.

The visit was part of a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration with the residents of Al-Yasmin Elderly Care Home, affiliated with Inner Wheel Cairo. Dr. El-Sonbaty graciously presented gifts, bringing joy and warmth to the elderly residents.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign

 Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity”, and in line with
January—Cervical Cancer Awareness Month—the Inner Wheel Club of
Cairo, led by Mrs. Boosy Hassanien and attended by esteemed members
organized an impactful awareness campaign in collaboration with the
Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Oncology at Kasr Al-Ainy.

The campaign was held on Wednesday, January 22nd, at 11:00 AM in the
Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Kasr Al-Ainy, under the esteemed
patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Hossam Salah, and
Professor Ahmed Abdel Mageed, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology
Department.

The event emphasized the importance of embedding cervical cancer
awareness as a core component of internship training for medical
graduates. Notably, the Inner Wheel Club of Cairo had previously
collaborated with the Presidential Initiative to advocate for the
inclusion of this awareness in school curricula, aiming to foster health
education among younger generations.

This initiative reflects a strong commitment to the vital role of civil
society in promoting awareness, encouraging early detection, and
building a healthier society capable of addressing both health and
societal challenges.

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,”  Inner Wheel Club of Cairo, led
by Mrs. Boosy Hassanien and joined by several members, purchased three
chemotherapy infusion pumps for children for 57357 Children’s Cancer
Hospital at a total cost of 120,000 EGP.

These modern devices are equipped with computerized systems that ensure
precise dosage delivery, minimizing the risk of human error in
administering chemotherapy treatments.

This initiative reflects the club’s strong belief in the vital role of
civil society in contributing to the treatment of those in need. May God
grant our precious children a full and speedy recovery.

Awareness Seminar on Cervical Cancer Prevention Under the Patronage of
the Presidential Initiative

🌹 Under the Patronage of the Presidential Initiative for Early
Detection of Tumours – Ministry of Health and Population 🌹

Inner Wheel Club of Cairo – District 95 (Egypt and Jordan), under the
leadership of Mrs. Bossy Hassanien, the Club President, and its esteemed
members, organized a seminar on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, to raise
awareness about the importance of protecting against cervical cancer,
its causes, and methods of prevention. This event coincided with
January, the Global Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

The seminar was graced by the presence of prominent experts in the
field:

Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Azab, Member and Coordinator of the Presidential
Initiative and the Ministry of Health for the Detection and Treatment of
Cancerous Tumours.

Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakhary, Consultant in Tumour Biology at the National
Cancer Institute and Former Minister of Scientific Research.

Prof. Dr. Neamat Kassem, Club Member and Professor of Immunology and
Tumour Biology at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine.

The event reflected the club’s deep belief in the importance of
community awareness as a fundamental factor in achieving a society free
from this disease and capable of overcoming life’s challenges.

CANCER BREAST SEMINAR

On November 26 th Innerwheel Club of Cairo, headed by Poussy Hassanein
in partnership with IWC of Lotous headed by Maha Khairy, hosted Dr.Hanan
Gweifel in a lecture on early detection of breast cancer at le Pasha
Restaurant The lecture was delivered in an elegant manner.Dr.Hanan
excelled in simplifying the scientific information to attendees in a
perfect way. It was an informative lecture indeed.

On Saturday, September 23, the activities of the Cairo Seminar began with the playing of the Egyptian and Jordanian national anthems, followed by the opening speech by Mrs. Trish Douglas, President of the International Innerwheel, and Her Excellency spoke on the following points:

I would like to convey to you the greetings of the International Innerwheel Board of Directors and its Executive Board on this great event, as Egypt and Jordan begin holding 3 climate conferences. This represents a fundamental and important initiative as we head into an unparalleled era of extreme heat and floods.

In China there is rain that has never been seen in 150 years. In Spain, there are many fires, as well as in Italy, there are huge fires, and in Hawaii, people run to throw themselves into the ocean to escape the fires.

There are climate-related seed problems in the world and I am very happy that Egypt and Jordan have embarked on this successful initiative to move forward.

You have very important lecturers who speak and lecture at your conferences.

I wish you the best of luck and success as we try to brighten the future.

After the presentation of the speech, Ms. Mona Abu Al-Futouh, President of District95 Egypt and Jordan, spoke about assigning the region’s clubs from Innerwheel International to implement a national topic and document it for presentation at Manchester International Conference, and the environment topic was chosen due to its seriousness and the importance that the countries of the world attach to it.

It has become necessary to confront environmental problems and make plans to save planet Earth, and humans are the creatures that have the greatest influence on it because they are subject to it.

In light of this year’s Innewheel slogan, which shed light, Her Excellency spoke about introducing the Innewheel Foundation, how it was established, how it developed, its main objectives, its slogan, and how it was created by Mrs. Margaret Golding in 1924. It was officially established in 1934, and in 1962 the beginning of the step towards recognizing it as an international body, and in 1967 it was recognized as an announced body .

In1970, the first international conference for Innerwheel was held in the Netherlands, and days passed, there were 120,000 female members in 4,000 clubs in the world and 1,000 female members at the regional level, and the number of clubs in our region reached 33 clubs.

A documentary film was shown commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding of District 95, highlighting some of the health projects it provided to serve the community.

Finally, I thanked everyone who attended this purposeful meeting, and to Mrs. Mona Al-Shafi’i, who moderated the meeting, and to Mrs. Magda Fahmy, head of the organizing committee for the Cairo Seminar, who made every effort to bring it to the fullest. And so was the word “Love your environment, for the earth is a trust from God” and it wished safety for all. After that, the lecturers continued their speeches .

At the conclusion of the seminar, everyone expressed their great benefit from all these valuable ideas and initiatives .

On this same day, the Jordan Seminar was held, and Mrs. Mona Abu Al-Futouh gave an opening speech and thanked the members who participated in the Jordan Seminar, directed at Mrs. Suzanne Al-Tayeh.

IWC of Cairo organized a celebration at the Jasmine House for the Elderly in 6th of October City

The Inner Wheel Club of Cairo headed by Dr. Wagida Anwar and a number of club members, organized a celebration at the Jasmine House for the Elderly in 6th of October City on Monday, March 20, 2023 in cooperation with Golden Years Foundation. The ceremony was attended by Mrs.Nora Fayek, D 95 , Egypt and Jordan, Chairman and Mrs.Azza Al-Mufti, Honorary Secretary, Mr. Adel Abdel-Baqi, President of the Rotary Club of Cairo, Mrs. Abeer Essam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Laylat al-Qadr Foundation, and members of different IW and Rotary Clubs, and guests. . In an atmosphere of fun and pleasure, to the tunes of music lunch was served to celebrate Mother’s Day. Special thanks and appreciation to those who contributed to the continuation of the activities of the Jasmine house.

Visit of Mrs. Nora Fayek  D95 Chairman to IWC of Cairo

On November 15,

the Inner Wheel Club of Cairo headed by Dr. Wagida Anwar hosted Mrs. Nora Fayek, Chairman of District95, Egypt and Jordan Mrs Hala Hagras Past Chairman , Mrs. Azza Al-Mofti, Honorary Secretary and Mrs. Fatma Abu Hatab at the Automobile And Touring Club Of Egypt.

In their meeting IWC of Cairo presented their sustainable projects, the Senior Home in 6th October and The Nursery in Garden City.In her speech Mrs.Nora Fayek expressed her deep gratitude for the club’s projects.

She also noted the importance of cooperation between the clubs , lunch was served in an atmosphere of friendship

Inner Wheel Club of Cairo headed by Mrs. Wageiha Anwar  held a joint meeting with  Rotary Club of Cairo.
The meeting was organized by Mrs Noha El-Zeini – HS of RC of Cairo headed by Mr. Mohamed Hassouna.
Spokesperson Dr. Naima Al-Qusayr, representative of the” WHO” in Egypt and Senior in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
The meeting was attended by Mrs. Reem Nazih, ISO for D95 Egypt and Jordan, members of the Rotary and IWCs members and professors doctors of the Faculty of Medicine.
IWC of Cairo was established on November 23, 1971, with the encouragement of IIW at the time, Mrs. Nancy Sharp and wife of a Rotarian.
The club’s first board of directors was formed by Mrs. Laila Abul-Ela, “RIP”, who was the first president of the IWC of Cairo from 1971-1974.
RC of Cairo, with IWC of Cairo, contributed to the establishment of EL Yasmine House for the Elderly at 6 October in the Seventh District, and it was opened in 1993.
Dr. Naima Al-Qasir, spoke about Covid -19 pandemic and its various mutations, and the difference between them, up to Omicron, this strain that appeared in South Africa and moved to many countries and how to protect ourselves, ensure vaccination, wear a mask, distance and avoid crowding.
RC of Cairo celebrated with IWC of Cairo the 50th anniversary of the club establishment.
