Cairo West IWC -“Paulownia Tree” Project

Cairo West IWC

As part of the Innerwheel Club of Cairo West’s initiatives under this year’s slogan of “Shine A Light,” and in alignment with Innerwheel District 95 (Egypt & Jordan) Mega Project addressing climate change, we have embarked on a significant environmental project.

Our club has partnered with the Ministry of Environmental Elements to plant the “Paulownia Tree” in Cairo. This tree is highly significant due to its numerous benefits, particularly its ability to combat global warming by producing an oxygen level equivalent to four violet trees.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the Paulownia tree yields high-quality wood that is valuable in the furniture industry and other wood-related sectors. Some varieties of this wood are noted for their exceptional quality and high market value.

We have already financed, supplied, and planted 1,250 seedlings in a garden managed by the Ministry of Environmental Elements in the New Cairo area.

We are confident that this project will be a successful model for expanding Paulownia cultivation across Egypt.
