District 95 Egypt and Jordan Handover

On June 25th, 2022 at Le Pasha -Zamalek at 1:00 p.m., the last official Inner Wheel meeting for the year 2022/2021 ,followed by the handover ceremony of District 95 Egypt and Jordan  to Chairwoman and National Representative for the year 2022/2023.

The meeting began with the speech of the NR Mrs. Iman Al-Bashari, by welcoming the Jordanian delegation, the Executive Board Committee, the District former presidents , Clubs’ presidents and members.

Mrs. Iman praised the many charitable works that she was proud of as she wrote the annual report of the International Inner Wheel for the projects of D95 Egypt and Jordan, which cost 19 million Egyptian pounds in all areas that serve women and children in health, education and others.
She also announced the name of the next IIW president for the year 2022/2023 from Philippines Mrs. Zenaida Farcon and her Theme ” Work Wonders”.
Mrs. El Bashari mentioned that she is so happy, for the first time, that two of the IW members in one year received the highest honor from the International Inner Wheel, which is the Margaret Golding Award, namely, Mrs. Zainab Al-Ghazali and Mrs. Hanaa El-Sadat.
Finally, she thanked DC Mrs. Hala Hagrass and her Executive Board Committee and announced the coming National Representative for the year 2022/2023, will be Mrs. Suzan Al Tayeh from Jordan and Ms. Ghania Al Tayeh for the year 2023/2024 from Jordan.

She indicated that due to special circumstances, she gave up her right to run for the International Board of Directors of IIW next year 2022-2023 and will give it to the IWC of Amman in Jordan, while retaining her right to run for the year 2023-2024.

Ms. Mona Aboul Fotouh, District Honorary Secretary made a presentation for the official meetings and the visits of DC Hala Hagrass to all clubs and projects throughout the year 2021/2022.

The speech of DC Mrs. Hala Hagrass, came with thanks and gratitude for the work with her EBC this year and the wonderful efforts and projects provided by all the clubs in Egypt and Jordan, especially the donation made by the clubs to make a breast cancer examination room in Baheya Hospital, Sheikh Zayed Branch, which costed 619 thousand Egyptian pounds.

Words went on to the rest of the members of the Executive Board Committee of D95.

Mrs. Hala Hagrass also distributed certificates of thanks and appreciation to her EBC members and club presidents for their fruitful efforts to serve the community for those who are less fortunate.

Finally, the hand-over ceremony for the year 2022/2023 began.

The Chairwoman of District 95 Egypt and Jordan, Mrs. Hala Hagrass met in the presence of the National Representative Mrs. Iman Al-Bashari, and the Executive Committee of District 95, with guest members IWCs of Egypt of and the three Inner Wheel Clubs of Jorden, Amman, Philadelphia and Petra, at the Amman Rotana Hotel.
Mrs. Hala listened to the presentations of the three clubs’ projects during this year by the club’s Presidents .
She then gave a speech in which she thanked the clubs for the efforts made and urged them to cooperate among themselves to work on joint mega projects.
Mrs. Iman Al-Bashari, gave a speech in which she clarified some of the Inner Wheel laws and announced the name and logo of next year’s International Inner Wheel President coming from the Philippines.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Hala Hagrass presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to the presidents of the three clubs.

With pride and honor… As the Nedaa Association for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Children is one of the sustainable projects of the Inner Wheel Club of El Nile.
Mrs. Magda Fahmy, a member of the club and the chairperson of the association’s board of directors of Nedaa,had signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Nedaa Association for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
The Ministry issued the following statement:

Al-Qabbah witnesses the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Nedaa Association for the Rehabilitation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

Mrs. Nevin Al-Qabbah, Minister of Social Solidarity, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry and the Nedaa Association for the Rehabilitation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, regarding ensuring the quality of education and rehabilitation for hearing-impaired children who use hearing aids and cochlear implants in kindergartens and earlier in the age period from birth to 8 years.

The protocol was signed by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgod, Assistant Minister for Civil Society Institutions Affairs, and by the Nedaa Association for the Rehabilitation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, Mrs. Magda Ahmed Fahmy, Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors.

The signing of the protocol comes within the framework of the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s care for people with disabilities and out of its keenness to provide all services to them through professional and psychological evaluation and conducting scientific measurements according to the specifics of each case. In addition to launching a training program to prepare specialized cadres in the field of rehabilitating deaf and blind children.

I am delighted and proud to announce that Dr. Zeinab Taki from IW Club of Cairo West and Mrs Hanaa El Sadat from IW Club of Sphinx have been awarded the Margarette Golding Award this year 2021/2022 for their outstanding charitable work outside the Inner Wheel. Both members deserve to be recognised and awarded for their achievements.
Two candidates have been nominated for this prestigious award this year on the occasion of our District celebration of its Golden Jubilee.

*What is the Margarette Golding Award*
Margarette Golding Award
It was decided at the eleventh convention in May 2000, in Stockholm ( Sweden) that an award be created in the name of Margarette Golding for highly commendable personal service in the community.
The award has been available since September 2001 and over 200 people have now received a Margarette Golding Award (MGA).
CRITERIA
The successful Margarette Golding Award recipients have generally been involved with a variety of charities or organisations for a very long time, often involving a great deal of commitment on a very regular basis. This work must be completely unconnected with Inner Wheel membership, Inner Wheel or Rotary fundraising activities. Alternatively or in addition they must have made great personal sacrifices for the benefit of others. The awards are given to Inner Wheel members as well as members of the general public. *The criteria for success are set high so that the award remains a truly significant marker of an individual’s commitment to others.

IWC of Amman , Activities, 2022

IW Club of Amman celebrated Mother’s Day on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at King Hussein Club.
IW district 95 Vice Chairman Mrs. Hala Nasoura and Mrs. Maha Shahin, district 95 editor attended the gathering.
Mrs. Fairouz Badwan gave Mrs. Noha Asfour the honoured active member pin , which is a tribute from the club to one of its members who provided great services to its club.
Giving is one of the highest qualities in a human being, and giving can be in many ways, by donating money, or emotion by human interaction with those who have suffered, and practically by speeding up assistance in any way possible.
Mrs. Noha Asfour, since she joined the club, has been a generous financially and practically whenever needed. She works tirelessly for the benefit of the club, and does not hesitate for a moment to help if asked or not.
Her love and support for the club was not limited to her presence in an administrative body or the position of president and advisor or delegate for the club, but as an ordinary member of the general body she regularly attends all the club’s events and activities, she always invites many friends in support of the club.
She has undertaken several projects, including the establishment of the club’s website, support for the King Hussein Cancer Center, support for the Jordanian Hashemite Fund, and sustainable projects such as the green roof project in Gaza camp and a barbershop in Mabarat Umm Al Hussein Foundation, assisting needy students in education, and support for the Green Wheels initiative.
Mrs. Noha Asfour thanked President Fayrouz and the committee members for this honorary pin, which motivates her to expand charitable work, which is a permanent curriculum in her life.
President Fayrouz, also pinned the new member, Mrs. Wafaa Qawas who joined the the Club.
The ceremony included an activity (quiz) which the ladies enjoyed.
The atmosphere was beautiful, filled with an abundance of love, as we gathered for joy after a long absence and to the melodies of beautiful
music.

On Wednesday 9th,2022, under the patronage of Chairman
D95 Egypt and Jordan, Mrs. Hala Hagrass and her Board Committee and to activate this year’s Theme (Pink First), the IWCs in Egypt and Jordan participated in establishing a full room for analyzes and PCR at Baheya Hospital in Sheikh Zayed (under construction) and in line with the world’s celebrations of International Women’s Day, IWCs of D95 Egypt and Jordan donated an amount of L.E. 619,000.00 ( six hundred nineteen thousand Egyptian pounds )and signed the contract between Baheya Foundation and the clubs involved in this great project (28 IWCs from 31) which serves the largest category of Women treated for breast cancer free of charge.
The officials of the Baheya Foundation received the members and held a seminar to raise awareness of breast cancer diseases and presented a documentary film in which they explained the Foundation’s activities and their role in caring for and rehabilitating from depression which led to the admiration of the audience and they praised the effort made by all the employees of the Baheya Foundation.
All thanks to all the Inner Wheel Clubs in Egypt and Jordan, who contributed to the success of this generous initiative.

Inner Wheel Club of Sphinx , headed by Mrs. Amani Ezzat, participated as one of the official sponsors in the opening ceremony of the Butterflies Challenge exhibition, represented and organized by colleague Mrs. Hanaa El-Sadat, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yasmine Al-Samra Charitable Foundation – Debra Egypt.
It is considered the first art exhibition for patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa in Egypt and worldwide.
The Art Exhibition and opening ceremony was at the Russian House in Cairo.
The ceremony was attended by the Russian cultural manager, a group of journalists, and the guest of honor was the International Soprano Singer Mrs. Amira Salem.
The paintings and crafting products of the EB children were displayed.
Mrs. Hanaa El-Sadat presented the role of Yasmine El-Samra Foundation in helping children suffering from this disease and giving awareness for their families.
It was a meeting filled with warmth and affection.
Inner Wheel Club of Sphinx donated 10,000 Egyptian pounds to the foundation.
Our wishes always with more success and hope for a CURE to EB patients.

IWC of Alexandria East Twinning Protocol with IWC of Ilioupolis Greece, 2022

 

On January 22nd, 2022 Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria East D95 Egypt and Jordan signed a Twinning Protocol with Inner Wheel Club of Ilioupolis District 247 Greece.
The event was on zoom with the presence of Presidents and members from both clubs.
After hearing both the National Anthem of the two countries ,Mrs. Nadia Mohy El Din PlWC of Alexandria East and Mrs. Penny Alexatou PIWC of Ilioupolis Greece gave a speech of welcome and congratulations .It was our pleasure that Mrs Mona Aref PP of D95 Egypt and Jordan attended also the signing of the protocol.
It was a joyful event demonstrating the true IW spirit of friendship without borders .
We would like to thank our colleague Mrs Amel Shabaan for her efforts with the president of Ilioupolis club Mrs Penny Alexatou to come up with the above mentioned Twinning .

CD95 visit to IWC of Sphinx, news,2022

The visit of Chairman of D95 Egypt and Jordan, Mrs. Hala Hagrass, and her Board Committee, on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at Hilton Zamalek at 5 pm with members of the Inner Wheel Club of Sphinx headed by Mrs. Amani Ezzat, and in the presence of the members of the Board Committee of D95, Egypt and Jordan:
Ms. Mona Aboul Fotouh, Honorary Secretary,
Ms. Omaima Ezzat, Treasurer
Ms. Reem Nazih, the international Service Organiser in the presence of a number of club members.
Mrs. Amani Ezzat presented the club’s sustainable and new activities and projects for this year, including:
1.Treatment of pediatric eye conditions at Abu Al-Rish Hospital
2. Treatment of two cases at Baheya Foundation, a participant in the initiative of the District Chairman Mrs Hagrass for Baheya Foundation for Breast Cancer Treatment.
3 Contribute in the cost of water connections in the poorest villages.
4. Donating to the needs of a bride at the Muslim Women’s Association.
Ms. Hanan Azmy, treasurer of the club, also presented the amounts of donations for the projects of the year.
Mrs. Hala Hagrass praised the club’s effort and the spirit prevailing among the club’s members, and exchanged symbolic gifts with the club’s president.
It was an enjoyable meeting in an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship.

Shields of Appreciation, News, 2022

On January 10th, 2022, IW members of D95 Egypt and Jordan celebrated the 98th International Inner Wheel Day, in the presence of
NR Iman Al-Bashari, and DC Hala Hagrass.
Shields were presented in honor of former founders and pioneers in charitable work in the
