Cairo West IWC -“Paulownia Tree” Project

Cairo West IWC

As part of the Innerwheel Club of Cairo West’s initiatives under this year’s slogan of “Shine A Light,” and in alignment with Innerwheel District 95 (Egypt & Jordan) Mega Project addressing climate change, we have embarked on a significant environmental project.

Our club has partnered with the Ministry of Environmental Elements to plant the “Paulownia Tree” in Cairo. This tree is highly significant due to its numerous benefits, particularly its ability to combat global warming by producing an oxygen level equivalent to four violet trees.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the Paulownia tree yields high-quality wood that is valuable in the furniture industry and other wood-related sectors. Some varieties of this wood are noted for their exceptional quality and high market value.

We have already financed, supplied, and planted 1,250 seedlings in a garden managed by the Ministry of Environmental Elements in the New Cairo area.

We are confident that this project will be a successful model for expanding Paulownia cultivation across Egypt.

“Hearts rejoice by giving when the project is completed to serve the community.” Coinciding with the Kingdom’s celebrations of Independence Day, and under the slogan “Shine a Light,” the committee members of Inner Wheel Club of Philadelphia , headed by Mrs. Hanan Ghawi, visited today, Sunday, 5/26/2024, the health center of Gaza Camp in Jerash and Inaugurated the project for the year 2023/2024 which is a complete clinic with medical devices and equipment for comprehensive hearing examinations of the ear parts, diagnosing and assessing patients’ needs for hearing aids or cochlear implants. This clinic, in addition to the previous clinics, which were previously provided by the club, serves approximately forty-five thousand people annually.

The ladies were received by Mrs. Sherine Shaheen, Head of Medical Aid for Palestinians, and a number of specialized doctors, who explained how to treat children and the elderly.
The club handed over a check for the amount required to complete the purchase of the rest of the equipment.

It is suggested that the center began receiving patients with hearing problems and providing them with the necessary treatment.

We thank God for His generosity in enabling us to complete the project completely.

Special thanks, full of love and appreciation, to the administrative body that works and provides moral support at every stage of this successful project.

Always forward, Philadelphia Club, and may God enable us to serve the community.

Additionally, recognizing the importance of continuous support, the club made a further donation of 5,290 dinars to purchase ten PlayStation devices for children in isolation undergoing cancer treatment, to provide them with entertainment and psychological relief.
