Empowering 50 Girls with Supplies and Comfort: EGP 31,000 Invested in
Al-Damir Al-Hayy Girls’ House

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, under this year’s inspiring theme,
“Step Up & Lead by Example,” we embraced the spirit of solidarity
and compassion as we welcomed a new academic year full of promising
opportunities for growth and success.

The IWC of New Cairo , under the dedicated and compassionate leadership
of Ms. Rania Al-Kashef, generously provided all essential school
supplies—including notebooks, pens, flasks, and lunch boxes—for the
brave and resilient girls of Al-Damir Al-Hayy Girls’ House in El Haram,
investing EGP 10,000 to support and brighten their educational journey.

We sincerely hope that these courageous young girls enjoy a school year
filled with achievement, happiness, and lasting success.

In a further act of care, the club also purchased 50 sets of bed sheets
and pillows for the same home. This initiative aimed to enhance the
living conditions and nurture the overall environment, at a cost of EGP
21,000.

To reinforce the importance of supporting charitable organizations
sponsored by Inner Wheel clubs, the bed sets were purchased from the
Bright Tomorrow Association, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to
uplifting those in need while also promoting high-quality products made
by local charitable initiatives.

Flag Exchange

On Friday, April 18th, 2025,  under the heartfelt theme  ‘Heartbeat of Humanity’ set the stage for a moving flag exchange between the IWC of New Cairo, with the presence of Nihal Elbakry, PDNR & PP of IWC of New Cairo, and Pallavi Choksi, Immediate Past District Chairman of the IWC of Bombay Airport and member of the Association Council of IW Clubs of India.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Ashnadelle Hilmy Mortagy, our dedicated PIIW Board Director, whose efforts made our meeting with Pallavi Choksi both genuine and welcoming. Our shared lunch was more than just a meal—it was a beautiful opportunity to strengthen our connections and immerse ourselves in the richness of India’s culture. During this time, we exchanged invaluable insights about our IW clubs, and the flag exchange stood as a heartfelt symbol of the growing bond between us.
We were honored by the presence of Samia Aboul Fotooh, D95 NR, and Mona Aboul Fotooh, PDC, whose contributions brought even more joy to our gathering, making it a truly unforgettable occasion. These moments and the meaningful relationships we are building will always hold a special place in our hearts. We look forward to expanding our friendships with IW members around the world.

Orohan’s Day Beneficiaries 110

On Friday, April 4, 2025, under the inspiring theme “Heartbeat of Humanity”, the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo (e-Club), led by Ms. Lina Shaker, along with the valued participation of Ms. Nihal Al-Bakri, Ms. Rania Al-Kashef, and Ms. Manuela Al-Wakil, organized a heartwarming day for 110 children and young people from the Safwat Al-Hayat and Ersam Farha associations.

The group enjoyed a memorable trip to Gero Land Amusement Park, where the children experienced a day of pure joy, laughter, and invaluable psychological and social support — turning a long-held dream into a beautiful reality.

The club thoughtfully prepared a range of gifts tailored to various age groups, from 2 to 20 years old, and provided a delicious lunch for everyone to enjoy during their time at the park.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all the generous donors and dedicated volunteers whose kindness and support made this event possible. Special thanks are owed to Ms. Sherine Arafa, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, for her instrumental role in securing reduced ticket prices, allowing a greater number of children to participate in this day of happiness and cherished memories.

A Night of Giving: Annual Charity Iftar for Orphans and Special Needs Care

Under the Theme “The Heartbeat of Humanity”
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, under the inspiring theme “The Heartbeat of Humanity,” the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, led by the dedicated Miss Lina Shaker, joined hands with the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, under the leadership of Mrs. Gihan Faheem, to host their annual charity Iftar—a cherished tradition of generosity and inclusion. This heartfelt event was graciously sponsored by Mrs. Seham Al-Gohary, the esteemed founder of the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City.

The evening welcomed ten distinguished organizations supporting orphaned children and individuals with special needs, embracing a community of over 300 young guests in an atmosphere of love and care. This year, the event was further enriched by the participation of the Yasmine Al Samra Charity Foundation, joining for the first time to extend its compassionate support to children affected by epidermolysis bullosa.

For 27 years, this Iftar has been a beacon of kindness and solidarity, uniting children, club members, and honored guests in an evening filled with warmth, joy, and celebration.

Adding a magical touch, the renowned artist Ahmed Shaker Abdel Latif mesmerized the children with lively performances, engaging games, and uplifting songs, creating unforgettable moments of happiness and laughter.

As the night unfolded, the children’s smiles illuminated the gathering, as they enjoyed exciting activities and thoughtful gifts prepared with love. The entire event was a beautiful reflection of compassion, unity, and shared humanity.

A Heartwarming Visit to Dar Al-Habayeb Elderly Home.

On Saturday, February 22nd, the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, led by
Ms. Lina Shaker joined forces with the talented ACT Theatre Group to
bring joy and warmth to the residents of Dar Al-Habayeb Elderly Home in
Maadi.This collaboration aimed to create cherished memories through the
magic of theatre.

The ACT Theatre Group, a passionate ensemble of artists, is dedicated to
igniting creativity and fostering connections within the community. They
believe in the power of storytelling to spark conversations and inspire
audiences of all ages.

The event was a vibrant celebration of laughter and music, featuring two
captivating performances. The first was a hilarious comedy inspired by
the timeless tales of Juha, followed by a delightful musical show in the
garden that filled the air with melody and cheer.

The performances deeply moved the residents, bringing smiles to their
faces and warmth to their hearts. It was truly a day filled with joy,
laughter, and a beautiful reminder of the power of human connection.

Cultural Seminar

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the fourth book club meeting of the
2024-2025 program took place, centered around the theme “A Heart
Beating with Humanity.” This enriching cultural event was organized by
the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, under the leadership of Lina Shaker,
in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City. Jihan Al-Gumai,
honorary secretary, attended on behalf of President Gihan Michel,
joining a distinguished literary discussion hosted by Ahmed
Al-Qarmalawi, a renowned writer and publishing director of Al-Diwan
House, a publishing house famous for its graphic novel adaptations of
Naguib Mahfouz’s works.

The focal point of the meeting was Children of Our Alley, the Nobel
Prize-winning novel by the legendary Naguib Mahfouz. This masterpiece,
rich in symbolism, plot development, and imagery, explores the eternal
struggle between good and evil through a deeply layered narrative.
Mahfouz’s unique ability to simplify complex themes allows readers to
engage in deep analysis and personal reflection, using an Egyptian
neighborhood as a microcosm for broader philosophical and societal
discussions.

The event was attended by esteemed members of District 95’s Board of
Directors, including Hanaa Sadat, Mervat Al-Azouni, deputy chairwoman of
District 95, Omnia Hanna, honorary secretary of District 95, as well as
Mona Abu Al-Futouh, Hala Hagras, and Noura Fayek, all former District 95
presidents. A special acknowledgment was given to Siham El-Gohary, a
past member of the International Inner Wheel Board of Directors, as she
was formally congratulated on her new role as president of the Board of
Directors of the Heliopolis Library. In recognition of this achievement,
she was presented with a commemorative gift.

The event also welcomed Dina Nashed, assistant governor of Rotary, Hilmi
Al-Saeed, past president of Rotary Nasr City Club, as well as members
from various Rotary clubs, book club members, and their guests.

Before concluding the meeting, Ahmed Al-Qarmalawi delighted attendees
with a beautiful oud performance, showcasing his musical talent as a
heartfelt gift. To commemorate the gathering, Nihal ElBakry, founder of
the Book Club and past deputy national representative, presented a
symbolic gift to the writer and distributed gifts to attendees in
celebration of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

This event was a testament to the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo and the
Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City’s shared commitment to fostering
cultural enrichment, intellectual dialogue, and community engagement.

In alignment with the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” the Inner Wheel
Club (IWC) of New Cairo, under the leadership of Miss Lina Shaker,
continues to prioritize the welfare of orphans and young individuals
with special needs. The club actively provides educational opportunities
and fosters their integration into society.

As part of its third initiative this year, IWC New Cairo organized a
cultural and entertainment excursion for 15 students from the Charitable
Society for Child Welfare for Orphans. The students attended a
performance of “Fares Yakshef El Mastour” by the renowned Mohamed
Sobhi—a play that blends purposeful comedy with themes of education
and patriotism, particularly for younger generations.

Following the performance, Mohamed Sobhi engaged with the students,
taking commemorative photos and sharing moments that made their
first-ever theater experience even more memorable. Meeting such an
iconic figure in Egyptian contemporary theater was an unforgettable
highlight for the children.

The event was attended by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, IWC New Cairo PP and
former Vice NR of District 95, Mrs. Manuela Al-Wakeel, a member of IWC
New Cairo, and Mrs. Maha Ragab, a member of IWC Sharm El-Sheikh. As the
Charitable Society for Child Welfare is a sustainable project of IWC
Sharm El-Sheikh, IWC New Cairo distributed toys and sweets to the
students, promising a follow-up gathering in the near future.

This initiative exemplifies IWC New Cairo’s ongoing commitment to
empowering young individuals and enriching their lives through
education, culture, and community engagement.

On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the third book club meeting for the
2024-2025 year was held under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity.””
This event was organized by  Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of New Cairo, led by
Miss Lina Shaker, in collaboration with the IWC of Nasr City, under the
leadership of Mrs. Jihan Fahim.

The meeting featured renowned writer and consultant Ashraf El Ashmawy,
who discussed his novella Births of the Zoo.” This unique literary work
comprises three short novellas that address pressing societal issues
such as corruption, unemployment, and nepotism. Through his
thought-provoking storytelling, the author uses literature as a lens to
expose the harsh realities and complexities of these challenges.

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests,
including Mrs. Omnia Hanna, the Honorary Secretary of District 95; Mrs.
Siham Al-Gohary, a former member of the Inner Wheel International Board
of Directors; Mrs. Dina Nashed, Past Assistant Governor of Rotary; Dr.
Hassan Shaker, Past President; and Mr. Hilmy Al-Saeed, Past President of
the Nasr City Rotary Club. Several Rotary Club members also attended,
enriching the event with their engagement.

During the meeting, Ms. Lina Shaker, President of the New Cairo Club,
along with Mrs. Siham Al-Gohary and Mrs. Nihal Elbakry presented Mrs.
Manuel El-Wakeel with the Inner Wheel pin, officially welcoming her as a
member of the New Cairo Club.

To commemorate the occasion, a symbolic gift was presented to Ashraf El
Ashmawy, and special gifts were distributed to all attendees in
celebration of the book club’s ten-year anniversary, marking its
establishment in 2015. The event concluded with a shared sense of
camaraderie, inspiration, and a commitment to fostering dialogue through
literature.

by Miss Lina Shaker, organized a remarkable event under the 2024-2025
theme:
“Heartbeat of Humanity”

This event marked the club’s second cultural and educational excursion
of the year, engaging 20 students from the photography workshop
established by the club at the Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association.
The excursion took place at the Grand Egyptian Museum, a world-renowned
cultural and entertainment landmark. Spanning 117 acres, the museum is
the largest of its kind, dedicated to preserving the history of Ancient
Egyptian civilization. It features extraordinary archaeological exhibits
and a stunning glass window offering panoramic views of the iconic pyramids.

During the visit, each student captured a diverse array of photographs
showcasing the museum’s exhibits and unique features. These
photographs will be displayed in a photo exhibition planned for the end
of the academic year.

At the end of the trip, club members—including Mrs. Nihal (P.P. &
PNR), Mrs. Rania Al-Kashef, and Mrs. Manulea Al-Wakeel—presented
Christmas gifts to the students. Additionally, sandwiches and snacks
were distributed, ensuring a delightful conclusion to the day’s activities.
