IWC of Gezira Sporting Club headed by  P. Wafaa Zaki met with   Mrs. Azza El Mofty on October 25th,2021 to sort  a large quantity of women, men and children clothes    ( some are new)  to donate  them to the following places:

– Upper Egypt (Luxor & Aswan).

– Deaf- Mute Association.

-Kheir and Baraka Association at El Asmarat district.

-Baheya Hospital.

-Tawasol Society.

 

16/6/2021 – The President of the Inner Club of Gezira Sporting believes in the importance of the engagement of the civil society to help local hospital upgrade their medical services. With this thought in mind, Dr. Asrar El Barki, President of the Club, and some of its honorable members paid a visit on Theodore Bilharz Research Institute to donate two medical devices, costing L.E 90,000, to its blood bank:
– Balance- mixer:
Prevents blood coagulation during the blood donation process until the required quantity is withdrawn then automatically cuts the blood bag.
– Sealer:
Seals the blood bag to keep it sterile and prevent the penetration of air and microbes into it.
These two devices guarantee maintaining the required level of quality for the blood donation process.
It is worth noting that IWC of  Gezira Sporting Club  has made a donation a few years back to the same Institute of a device that tests the donated blood.

We pray for the safety of all the patients and will continue to put in practice the Inner Wheel International slogan “Lead the change”.

6/4/2021 – In a yearly tradition since 2003, on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan, Inner Wheel Club of  Gezira Sporting Club, represented by Mrs. Nihal El Rafei, distributed Ramadan food supply bags upon 140 orphans and employees of Fatima El Zahraa Primary School, in the Warak El Hadar neighborhood. The Club also made cash donations to supervisors of the School. Dr. Asrar El Barki, President of the club, who was unable to attend has delegated Ms. Nihal El Rafei to take charge of the event on her behalf and on behalf of other members who were unable to be present due to private circumstances and health reasons.

We are determined to continue giving and helping those less fortunate in our society whenever the opportunity presents itself, in a bid to introduce greater happiness to their lives.

19/3/2021 – Inner Wheel Club of El Gezira Sporting, under the presidency of Dr. Asrar El Barki, and with the effort of its honorable members, participated in celebrating Mother’s Day by giving the trainees of the tailoring workshop sponsored by our Club the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products in a designated corner at a garment exhibition for men, women, and children at affordable prices. The exhibition was held at El Mashabek Youth Center, Boulaq El Dakrour. The proceeds will go to the charity projects of the IW Club of El Gezira Sporting Club. We are determined to continue our mission with the hope of making a positive change in the lives of the less fortunate in our society.

 

24/2/2021 – Inner Wheel Club of Gezira Sporting Club members, under the Presidency of Dr. Asrar El Barki, have agreed, from the beginning of the IW year 2020/2021, to choose undertaking charity activities which directly and positively impact the daily lives of those less fortunate in our society. It was agreed, after careful research, to direct our donations to two selected orphanages. Donations from the Inner Wheel Club of Gezira Sporting members, and other donors, were given during a visit to the orphanages as follows:

1) Dar El Re’aya we El Hanan

* 16 feet Kiriazi refrigerator (new)

* 43 inch LG TV (new)

* New desk top computer

* LE 5000 monthly ongoing contribution to better the daily living conditions of the orphans

2) Girls Institute (Imbaba)

* 14 feet Kiriazi refrigerator (new)

* 220 liter Kiriazi deep freezer

 

We are happy and determined to continue fulfilling the needs of those less fortunate in our society, hoping it will have a positive impact on their daily lives.

24/12/2020 – COVID-19 Pandemic has created a great need for support from non-profitable organizations and civil society to finance the need of buying medicines for patients , medical products and personal protective equipment’s a to Doctors and frontlines medical staff from this deadly virus.
IW Gezira Sporting Club members under the Presidency of Dr. Asrar El Barki decided to be part of these contributions and donated in cash LE 20,000 to a Doctor/Coordinator for such donations in The National Heart Institute (Egypt)

21/12/ 2020 – Inner Wheel club of Gezira Sporting club members under the Presidency of Dr. Asrar El Barki gathered to sort and ship a large quantity of women and men garments (some of which brand new), toddlers, children clothes and toys .The shipments were intended to the following destinations:
– Families and children (Luxor and Aswan )
– Beit El Shams (Abassiya)
– El Azhar University students (expatriates)
– Assiut University students (faculty of engineering)
The mission was accomplished with satisfaction and a sincere hope that the donations have covered a need for it.

The Inner Wheel Club of Gezira Sporting Club has for years, and around this time, been offering the orphans and workers of Fatema El Zahraa Primary School, in Warak El Hadar, with the opportunity to purchase winter clothes at affordable prices.
This year, headed by Dr. Asrar El Barki, and with the participation of some of the Club members, the event was held over two days, in a spacious area in an attempt to apply the necessary social distancing and precautionary measures.
The children and workers were presented with a voucher of LE300 to make their purchases according to their personal preferences.
The children enjoyed the sweets that were given to them and the experience of shopping for themselves and picking out the clothes that best fit them, while we enjoyed seeing the smiles that were drawn on their faces.
This year we were able to uphold our yearly tradition and see it succeed. We hope we will be able to keep up our good work for years to come.

15/11/2020 In a continuous  effort  of Inner  wheel El Gezira Sporting  Club and through one of  their  sustainable project « The sewing and  tailoring  workshop set up at Al Mashabek Youth Center at Faisal neighborhoods ».Some members paid a visit to the Center carrying a donation of fabrics, stuff and different materials  for the workshop .  The  purpose was to encourage the trainees to  be more productive  and have the tools to learn more thus be able to come up with  a product they can sell  through an exhibition  that will be specially arranged  for them at the center. By selling their products the   trainees will be able to   make some profits thus   enhance their income. IW Gezira ladies experienced in this field make sure to frequently visit the trainees to help them properly use the sewing machines and teach them some useful tips.

The Inner Wheel Club of Gezira Sporting Club held a charity exhibition on the 3rd and 4th of September 2020 for the sale of men and women garments at discounted, affordable prices. The Exhibition was attended by the head of IWC of Gezira Sporting Club, Dr Asrar El Barki, and some of the club members, and was held in collaboration with Al Mashabek Youth Center, under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Exhibition was held in conjunction with the start of the new academic year 2020/2021, with the aim of easing the burden of providing clothing on parents, trainees and employees of the Center. Also exhibited during the event was the work of the trainees of the sewing and tailoring workshop setup by IW Gezira Sporting Club at Al Mashabek Center, in 2018, as a sustainable project to help women of the neighborhood acquire new skills in sewing and garment-making and as a means of supplementing their livelihood. Currently, we are working on introducing new activities, such as crochet and knitting Trainings, for women to gain new skills and become more productive.
