Alexandria East – Environment Project

Alexandria East.

Under the slogan “shine A Light “ and in line with the national
project for D95 “Environment and Climate “.Innerwheel club
“Alexandria East” held a special meeting on Sunday 19th of November
with Dr .Mona Gamal El Din president of the club entitled
“ Green Desalination Plant for sustainable Communities “.Dr Mona
Gamal won the first place in the Alexandria Government for the symposium
title project.
Members of different Alexandria clubs attended with many ladies of
important positions in Innerwheel.
Alexandria East club tries always to serve the community and support its
various institutions.

Enviromental preservation-16 poiciana royal trees/ Save the Earth

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace in line with the national project for District 95 (Egypt and Jordan) which was dedicated for environmental preservation, The six IW clubs of Alexandria (Alexandria, East, Nozha, Sporting, Mediterranean, and Capital) and the IWC of Damanhur planted 16 ‏Poiciana Royal Trees in Ayadi El Mostakbal Oncology Hospital 4040 and Shatby Children’s Hospital.

IWC of Alexandria East held a workshop titled “ Be a Hero Combating Climate Change”.

Believing in the importance of Environmental awareness and continuing the projects of the Inner wheel Alexandria East Club for this year to raise the awareness of Egyptian Japanese Schools’ children about the climate change topics and the ecological footprint. The Inner wheel Alexandria East Club headed by Dr Mona Gamal held a workshop titled: “Be a Hero Combating Climate Change” to aware the children, in a simple way, how to calculate the carbon footprint which is the person’s contribution in CO2 emissions that affects the environment.
The workshop was held on Monday 29-5-2023 and included various activities for children about the ways to reduce the carbon footprint through controlling the consumption of energy, water, and food.
More than 32 children participated in the workshop. They were divided into 3 working groups. The participating children calculated an individual’s carbon footprint through their daily activities. They also offered recommendations and activities that they will work on, as well as transferring these experiences to their families and friends and disseminating them in the surrounding community.

A Medical Convoy of Ophthalmology was made by the IWC of Alexandria East

On Wed 17 May 2023 members of Inner Wheel Club of  Alexandria East headed by Dr Mona Gamal paid a visit to the Health Unit of Bahig village at Borg El Arab City as a medical convoy of ophthalmology  was established in cooperation with Dr Ahmed Shama
a team of ophthalmologists accompanied with their equipment.
Doctors examined about 120 patients of whom 20 needed medical eye glasses and 13 required surgery.

IWC of Alexandria East organized the charity exhibition for student clothes at the Faculty of Pharmacy

On  March 29, members of Inner Wheel Alexandria East headed by Dr Mona Gamal organized the charity exhibition for student clothes which is held every year  at Faculty of Pharmacy ,Alexandria University, to help students, employees and workers.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Dean of the College, Dr. Mervat Qassem,

The expenses of students who are unable to pay will be paid with the proceeds of selling clothes in nominal amounts.

IWC of Alexandria East distributed Ramadan Bags to Smouha University Hospital & “Ayadi Almustakbal” Hospital

Coinciding the “Ketf fi ketf” initiative (Shoulder by Shoulder), Prof. Mona Gamal El-Din Ibrahim – President of Inner Wheel Alexandria East Club, and some club members distributed 100 Ramadan Bags on, March 21st, 2023 on the employees at Smouha University Hospital, “Ayadi Almustakbal” (Future Hands) Hospital for Cancer treatment for the unable and also on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 to some of the deserving families in the villages of Bahij and the old Borg El Arab City in Alexandria
The Ramadan Bags are a donation from the “Mohamed Ragab Charitable Foundation” and the “Integrated Care Association in Alexandria”.

IWC of Alexandria East donated a sum of money to the Egyptian Red crescent

On Thursday, the 23rd of February, The Inner Wheel club of Alexandria East headed by Dr Mona Gamal, donated a sum of money to the Egyptian Red crescent for the benefit of the Syrian earthquake victims.

IWC of Alexandria East visited Borg El Arab University Hospital- Children’s Oncology Center

On Thursday, February 2nd 2023, members from Inner Wheel Club of  Alexandria East, headed by Prof. Mona Gamal Eldin, visited Borg El Arab University Hospital – Children’s Oncology Center. The hospital serves more than 1,500 new children annually. The aim of the visit is to explore the medical equipment that were supplied by our club.

Dr. Shadi Fadel – Director of the hospital, welcomed the members and thanked Inner Wheel Alexandria East Club for the support  and  donation of equipment and supplies which the hospital needed .

At the end of the visit, the Inner Wheel Alexandria East club granted and planted orange trees for children, that create a cheerful atmosphere.

IWC of Alexandria East held a workshop titled “Ecological Footprint”

Continuing the Environmental projects of the IWC of Alexandria East for this year to raise the awareness of children about the climate change topics and the ecological footprint, Prof. Mona Gamal El-Din Ibrahim – President of  the Club, held a workshop titled “Ecological Footprint” to aware the children, in a simple way, how to calculate the carbon footprint which is the person’s contribution in CO2 emissions that affects the environment.
The workshop was held on Sunday 29-1-2023 and included various activities for children about the ways to reduce the carbon footprint through controlling the consumption of energy, water, and food.
More than 50 children participated in the workshop. They were divided into 7 working groups. The participating children calculated an individual’s carbon footprint through their daily activities. They also offered recommendations and activities that they will work on, as well as transferring these experiences to their families and friends and disseminating them in the surrounding community.  The children expressed their great happiness to participate in the workshop and also for the information they acquired.

IWC of Alexandria East Paid the tuition fees of Students in The University of Alexandria

Education is of great importance in the progress of the community development and that it is one of the axis of interest of the D95 Egypt and Jordan, for the year 2022/2023

‏Dr. Mona Gamal El-Din Ibrahim, President of Inner wheel Club Alexandria East and a group of club members visited the University of  Alexandria, on Monday, November 7, 2022, they were received by Prof. Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ezzat Khamis, university advisor in order to hand Dr. Wael Nabil a check for the contribution to the tuition fees for 12 studentsً  in order to obtain their graduation certificates
