On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, and under the theme “Heartbeat of
Humanity,” a donation was made of the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale
– Fifth Edition (Modified) to the Vocational, Intellectual, and Social
Rehabilitation Foundation for Girls in El-Seyouf. The initiative was led
by Prof. Dr. Susan Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Owais.

This specialized intelligence test is designed to measure and assess the
cognitive abilities of children with special needs, enabling better
interaction and more effective development of their mental skills. The
contribution will support 97 girls  and boys with special needs. The
total cost of the project amounted to EGP 8,150.

On Sunday, June 1, 2025 (5th of Dhu al-Hijjah), under the theme
“Heartbeat of Humanity,” the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Capital,
led by President Prof. Dr. Suzan Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola
Ewais, organized a charitable initiative to support 45 families of girls
with special needs affiliated with the Social Intellectual and
Vocational Rehabilitation Foundation for Girls in El-Seyouf.

The club members donated two sheep, distributing the meat among the
families, along with 50 kilograms of rice.  New Eid clothes were also
provided to the girls, bringing joy and a sense of inclusion during the
festive season.

In addition to these provisions, the foundation received 24 coverlets
for its internal department and personal care items such as shampoo,
shower gel, deodorant, sanitary pads, and diapers.  These contributions
aimed to enhance the daily living conditions of the girls and support
the foundation’s ongoing efforts.

During the visit, the club members inspected the foundation’s garden
alongside a specialized gardener.  They observed the fruiting of various
vegetables like tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, and molokhia, as well as
fruits including bananas, mangoes, guavas, figs, peaches, and lemons.
This inspection highlighted the foundation’s commitment to providing a
nurturing environment for the girls.

The initiative, benefiting 45 families, was executed with a total cost
of 50,000 Egyptian pounds.  It reflects the Inner Wheel Club of
Alexandria Capital’s dedication to community service and its commitment
to supporting those in need, especially during significant occasions
like Eid al-Adha.

Supporting Eye Health for Children with Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Cancer

On Thursday, March 27, 2025, under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” members of the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Capital, led by Dr. Suzan Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Owais, visited the Pediatric Ophthalmology Center (Alexandria Children’s Eye Association), affiliated with the Alexandria Faculty of Medicine.
As part of this humanitarian initiative, the club generously donated a check to fund essential eye surgeries for underprivileged children, giving them the chance to regain their sight and improve their quality of life.
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Nihal El Shakankiry, club members toured the facility, visiting various departments, including the reception hall, operating rooms, recovery units, and patient wards. To brighten the children’s spirits during this holy month, they also distributed gifts and toys, bringing joy and comfort to their young hearts.The project’s objective was to provide essential support for children suffering from eye conditions, ensuring they have the opportunity to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, IWC of Alexandria Capital, led by Prof. Dr.
Suzan Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Owais, in collaboration
with club friends, distributed Eid clothes and an envelope containing
500 EGP to each of the 153 blind girls at Al Nour Wal Amal School in
Moharram Bek, covering various age groups. The initiative also extended
to 62 teachers and school staff, ensuring that everyone felt the spirit
of generosity.
Furthermore, the club visited the Donyety Association for the Blind in
Moharram Bek, where they distributed envelopes containing 200 EGP to 50
visually impaired students. The visit included a tour of the
association’s facilities and an overview of its various activities.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, under the theme “Heartbeat of
Humanity,” and as part of the club’s commitment to providing a
healthier and more sustainable environment for families in need, the
members of the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Capital, led by Prof. Dr.
Suzan Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Ewais handed over a
donation check of 80,000 EGP to the Alexandria Drinking Water Company.

This contribution will fund the installation of 16 water connections for
homes in Amiriya villages, aiming to improve the quality of life for
these families.

 On Thursday, February 13, 2025, under the theme ” Heartbeat of
Humanity” and in celebration of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, the
members of Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Capital , led by Dr. Suzanne
Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Oweis visited the Intellectual
and Vocational Rehabilitation Institution for Girls in the Seyouf area.

During the visit, they distributed “Goodwill Cards” to 49 families of
the girls before the start of Ramadan. Additionally, they inspected the
workshop, observed the girls’ handicrafts, and followed up on
agricultural activities in the nursery.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, IWC of Alexandria Capital  under the
theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” the club members, led by Prof. Dr. Susan
Darwish and Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Ewais participated in the first
session of the Psychological Support through Arts Initiative.

Titled “You Are Not Alone,” this session was presented by Dr. Eng. Manal
Aliwa, a:

Consultant in Art Therapy

Egyptian Delegate to the World Health Organization for the International
Initiative for Childhood Cancer

Founder of the first integrated psychological treatment program, “Art to
Care,” which focuses on art therapy, psychological, and social
rehabilitation.

The session was rich in information, methods, and therapeutic
approaches.

Additional sessions will follow in the coming months, ensuring broader
benefits for all.

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” the International Women’s
Club (IWC) of Alexandria Capital, led by Prof. Dr. Suzan Darwish and
Honorary Secretary Dr. Ola Ewais, launched a heartfelt winter aid
initiative.

As part of their ongoing commitment to community support, the club
distributed 155 winter blankets to some of the most underprivileged
communities in Alexandria. The recipients included:

1. Residents of Al-Tabiya Area (Ezbet Nashaat and Ezbet El-Bahr),

2. Daughters of Light Association Shelter, which supports the blind and
promotes community development

On Tuesday, the 3rd of December, 2024,IWC of Alexandria Capital and
IWC of Alexandria Sporting in line with The International Day of Persons
with Disabilities “.also associated with the 9th Day of Orange the
World 16- day’s Campaign” IWC of Alexandria Capital, headed by Dr.
Nevine Abdel Rassoul, joining with the IWC of Alexandria Sporting,
headed by Eng. Amani Selim organized a medical convoy for all
specialities, in cooperation with the Medical Convoys Committee, Faculty
of Medicine, Alexandria University, headed by Prof. Dr. Tamer Abdullah,
at the Vocational, Intellectual and Social Rehabilitation Foundation for
Girls and boys with special needs and their families, as well as for
Mohamed Morsi Orphan Association and their families.

The convoy included about 500 examinations in the following
specialities:
Dermatology: 73 cases
– ⁠Pediatric : 32 children
– ⁠ENT : 60 cases
Gynaecology: 35 cases
Orthopaedic: 78 cases
Internal Medicine : 119 cases
– Ophthalmology: 50 cases
– Dental examination 80 cases
– Referrals for surgical operations: 50 patients

In addition to an awareness from “ The Anti-Violence Against Women &
Girls Unit, Alexandria University, headed by Prof. Dr. Manal Fouda; They
presented lovely dances and music for kids
Also, an awareness from the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University,
for general healthy nutrition, physical,and psychological care.

As well as an awareness from the professors of the Faculty of Medicine
on ways to prevent cervical cancer

300 meals were distributed to the children and their families.
The members of the two clubs inspected the project of planting the
institution’s garden with all kinds of fruits and vegetables, then
followed up
the building’s condition and changing the sewage pipes for the safety of
the residents.

Coinciding with the International Human Rights Day
The club members, headed by Dr. Nevine Abdel Rassoul, the honorary
secretary Dr. Ola Ewais, the attendance of the vice president Prof. Dr.
Suzan Darwish and many club members participated at the 37th annual
clothing exhibition of the faculty of medicine – Alexandria University

The club members contributed a large number of new and used clothes and
shoes;
Many productive families, owners of small projects, food, handmade
furniture, leather products, and handicrafts also participated in the
exhibition.
This is one of the club’s sustainable projects that the members are
keen to participate in every year.
