IW Of Nasr City Club – Egyptian Women’s Day and female martyrs of 1919 Revolution celeberation

The Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, under the slogan “Shine a Light,”
took part in District 95 Egypt and Jordan’s celebration on March 16,
commemorating Egyptian Women’s Day and the female martyrs of the 1919
Revolution. Several club members received certificates of appreciation
for their dedication.
Some were awarded by receiving the Honorary Active Member pin. Notably,
Mrs. Seham El Gohary, the club’s founder and former District 95 Egypt
and Jordan Chairman, was recognized, alongside with Mrs. Nihal ElBakry,
the former club president and founder of the Inner Wheel Club of New
Cairo. The event was marked by performances from the Mawlawiyya and
Tanoura band along with “oud”music, fostering a warm atmosphere of
camaraderie and joy.

innerWheel Nile, Nasr City and New Cairo Clubs – Clothing exhibition collaboration

Clothing Exhibition Organized under the theme “Shine a Light,” the Inner
Wheel Club of The Nile, led by Mrs. Maha Sorour, along with the Inner
Wheel Club of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Sherine Arafa, and the Inner
Wheel Club of New Cairo, led by Mrs. Nihal El Bakry, collaborated with
various Inner Wheel clubs in a clothing exhibition hosted by District 95
Egypt and Jordan at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University. The
exhibition ran on February 25 and 26, 2024, and was inaugurated by Mrs.
Mona Abul Fotouh, Chair of District 95, and Dr. Hala Sweid, Secretary
for Environmental Affairs and Community Service. The exhibition was held
in the college’s spacious lecture hall.
A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition was allocated to the
children’s department at Al-Demerdash Hospital.

IW Of Nasr City Club – Cleaning and Beauty Authority in West Nasr City visit

IW Of Nasr City Club.
On Monday, March 4, the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, led by Mrs.
Sherine Arafa, in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo,
headed by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, along with some members, visited the
Cleaning and Beauty Authority in West Nasr City. They distributed
fifty-two thousand pounds in cash and meals to the workers in honor of
Ramadan. Additionally, the Friends of a Bright Tomorrow Association, led
by Mrs. Shahinaz Hashem, contributed by donating clothes to the workers.
This visit to the Authority’s headquarters is part of the club’s ongoing
projects, showing appreciation for the workers who diligently beautify
Egypt every day.

IW Of Nasr City Club – ‘Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association visit

IW Of Nasr City Club.

On Monday, February 17, 2024, a prominent delegation led by Mrs. Mona Abu Al-Futouh, D95 chairman, Mrs. Omnia Hanna, Honorary Secretary Mrs. Nora Fayk, Past District chairman, Mrs. Ghada Rahmy, Editor, and other esteemed guests visited the ‘Friends of Bright Tomorrow Association, to inaugurate the association’s various club projects. The event was organized by the IWC of Nasr City, under the leadership of Mrs. Sherine Arafa, and the IWC of New Cairo, led by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, to celebrate the success of these projects and reaffirm District 95’s and its clubs’ commitment to sustainable development.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Shahnaz, the Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, and the esteemed Mrs. Siham El Gohary, the founder of IWC of Nasr City. Past NR Mrs. Afaf Maged, Past IIW Board Directors Mrs. Ashnadelle Hilmy, Past chairman Mrs. Zinab El Ghazaly and Mrs. Awatef El Nasharty, as well as the Presidents of IW Clubs involved in the renovations of the Paper Recycling Workshop, alongside members from IW clubs.

Mrs. Mona Aboul Fotouh inaugurated the workshops.

The inauguration highlighted several impactful projects:

  1. The Paper Recycling Workshop, upgraded by 12 IWCs after a generous donation from the Nasr City Club, to promote sustainable practices.
  2. The Al-Fursan Garden, a significant contribution from the New Cairo Club, serving as an agricultural training facility for students at Dormies in the association, aiming to impart practical knowledge in agriculture and sustainability practices.
  3. The Carpenter Workshop, established through a generous contribution from the Nasr City Club, providing a platform for carpentry and woodworking projects, offering valuable skills training and creative opportunities for the local community.
  4. The Thermal Printing Workshop, donated by the New Cairo Club, enabling young people to develop computer skills and learn modern printing programs, facilitating printing on various items such as gift boxes, plastic bags, cups, T-shirts, backpacks, and handbags, as well as banners for goods, plastic products, textiles, fabric, bags, and school accessories.
  5. The “Plant a Tree” Project, a joint initiative between the IWCs of Nasr City and New Cairo, successfully planting ten fruit trees to promote environmental sustainability, showcasing the positive impact of community engagement in achieving common goals and enhancing surrounding communities.

The day was filled with joy and appreciation among the members of the participating clubs, and Mrs. Shahinaz presented gracious souvenirs to all attendees from the association’s workshop production

Under the slogan “Shine a Light,” on Saturday, February 17,2024 the District95

, Egypt&Jordan, Chairman Mrs. Mona Abu El Fettouh, paid a visit to the “Bright Tomorrow Association” for Special Needs. accompanied by members of the Executive Committee, Presidents and members of different clubs.

The association was established in 1989and inaugurated in 1997.

It provides services for all types of mental disability and dual mental& motor disabilities. The center includes several departments such as:

Department of Education and capacity Development, Department of Education and Literacy Eradication – Department of General Capacity Development – Department of Vocational Rehabilitation – The Production Qualification Department includes several workshops (carpets and kilims – printing – embroidery – bamboo – wax – ceramics – decorations – accessories

The wood workshop is founded by the Innerwheel Club of Nasr City, The thermal printing workshop was established by the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo. In addition to the Al-Fursan Garden, which aims to train resident students .

Contributed in the environmental projects, including the paper recycling workshop.Fourteen IWC’s were involved in the co-development process of this workshop :

At the end of the visit Memorial photos were taken, the District Chairman and Mrs. Shahinaz Hashem the president of the association, a member of IWC of Nasr City and a winner of the Margarette Golding Award, and with all the presidents and members who attend this outstanding visit.

IW OF Nasr City Club – Book Club meeting – Fabrica Novel

Book Club
IW OF Nasr City Club.
The Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, led by Mrs. Sherine Arafa, and the
Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, led by Mrs. Nihal Al-Bakry, hosted a Book
Club meeting on Saturday, January 20th/2024. The guest of honor was the
author Ahmed Al-Malwani, who discussed his novel “Fabrica.”

The novel discussed the issue of foundling children living in one of the
remote villages and how those in power exploited them.

These children were mythologized and controlled by the villagers, forced
to dwell in an abandoned fabric once owned by a Frenchman from the
village’s past. When the Frenchman’s adopted grandson returned, he
sought to understand their story.

The narrative wove together elements of the Pasha’s search for the
elixir of life and the revival of an old machine through lightning,
which transformed the outcast children into vengeful creatures. The
novel’s fantastical elements were metaphorically portrayed through a
wall, symbolizing unfulfilled dreams.
The meeting was graced by the presence of authors Mr. Mohamed Zohny and
Mr. Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, in addition to members of the Book Club and
both Inner Wheel Clubs of Nasr City and New Cairo.

Nasir City Club – Book Club Meeting – The Maximum Speed is Zero club

December 14th.

On Monday, December 11th, 2023, the third book club meeting was hosted by

Nasr City club led by Mrs. Sherine Arafa, & New Cairo IWC led by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, “founder”.

The special guest was

Counselor Achraf El Achmawi, who discussed his book, “The Maximum Speed is Zero.”

The story is set in the upscale neighborhood of Garden City before the July Revolution, about an Egyptian family navigating various changes and upheavals across different timelines. Al-Ashmawi skillfully portrays the family through twin brothers Shokri and Fahmi, highlighting their differences. Seamlessly blending history and fiction, Al-Ashmawi

delves into childhood experiences, romantic and political adventures, and religious tensions, particularly the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood. The narrative is enriched by the character of Fayez Habashi, a radio anchor who enjoyed nearly 30 years of active and successful broadcasting.

Mrs. Noura Fayek, Mrs. Hala Hagras, and Mrs. Ashnadel Helmy, were among the guests along with the

Book club members.

The meeting was hosted at Mrs. Maha El samadony home. The members thanked the hostess for her warm & generous hospitality.

Naser City – distinguished projects – care for the environment

Naser City.
November 20th .
 The Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, plays a major role in serving the
community since its creation in 1997.
It has adopted its distinguished projects through the Friends of a
Bright Tomorrow Association, which is a civil society association
registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity (Social Affairs). No.
3641 of 1989.
 In line with the Mega project of D95 to care for the environment,
Nasr City club has succeeded in establishing some projects in this
field.
It renovated and completed the association’s 20-meter-long greenhouse.
They
 expanded the greenhouse and supplied it with simple fruiting & aromatic
plants.
 An offer was presented to complete the greenhouse structure from MAS
COMPANY.

Nasir City Club – “Help Gaza” campaign

Nasir City Club.

November 13th.

Mrs.Shahinaz Hashem the Chairman of “ Asdekaa Alghad Almoshrek
Association” and a member of Nasr City Inner Wheel club, visited the
Egyptian Red Crescent Headquarters with some students to participate in
“Aghitho Gaza” “Help Gaza” campaign.

They donated money and contributed in packing boxes.

This activity was exerted to connect male and female students with
external events and encourage them to do charitable work.

Mrs. Sherine Arafa, President of Nasr City club and members extended
their appreciation for Mrs. Shahinaz Hashem and the Vocational
Rehabilitation Department of the Association for their tremendous
efforts, good management and guidance.

Nasr City Club – Book Club meeting

Nasr City Club.
November 7th.

Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Sherine Arafa, in
coordination with the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo , headed by Mrs.
Nihal El-Bakry, held a Book Club meeting to discuss the book “Naomi
and Her Brothers” by the writer, engineer Hisham Al-Khashin.
The writer reviewed the story of the book that revolves around
“Dissociative Identity Disorder”.
He & attendees also discussed the open ending of the novel.
 The meeting was characterized by strong discussion and engaging
dialogues, and everyone was happy to attend, hoping for another meeting
with the writer.
