Exploring the Mystique of Siwa: Dr. Rasha Samir Discusses The Enchante

On Saturday, May 31st, under the theme “The Heartbeat of Humanity,”
a new session of the Book Club, headed by Mrs. Nihal El-Bakry, was held.
The Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, presided over by Mrs. Gehan Fahim,
together with the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, led by Ms. Lina Shaker,
hosted the esteemed author Dr. Rasha Samir to discuss her novel
“Al-Mashoura” (The Enchanted).

The novel is set in the Siwa Oasis and explores the lives of its diverse
tribes, including the indigenous Siwans and the Amazigh people. At the
heart of the story lies the mysterious “Zerzura Oasis” — is it a
real place or a product of legend? Is the lost treasure fact or fiction,
and could the search for it lead to one’s demise? The novel dives deep
into the customs, traditions, and way of life in Siwa, which the author
vividly and skillfully brings to life for the reader.

The event was honored by the presence of Mrs. Siham El-Gohary, the
founder of the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City and former National
Representative, along with Book Club members, members of both hosting
clubs, and their guests.

At the close of the session, the two club presidents presented Dr. Samir
with a special token of appreciation — a handcrafted wooden plaque
featuring the cover of The Enchanted, designed by the author’s
talented daughter, a gifted graphic designer.

Supporting Cancer Hospital 57357

Under the theme “The Heartbeat of Humanity,”
Mrs. Gehan Fahim, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, accompanied by several club members, visited Hospital 57357 on Monday, April 28th.
During the visit, they met with Ms. Samar Mahmoud and toured the Art Therapy and Creativity Center at the hospital. They explored its various departments and learned how children’s fears and suffering are transformed into artistic activities that help strengthen their immunity and improve their response to treatment.
This form of therapy is particularly notable for discovering children’s talents across different age groups and for organizing exhibitions and competitions showcasing their artwork and handicrafts. The proceeds from these exhibitions are used to fund activities within the center.

At the end of the visit, the members met with Dr. Sherif Abou El Naga, the hospital director, and presented a donation check of thirty thousand Egyptian pounds to support free medical treatment at the hospital. They also purchased several pieces of artwork created by the children of the center.

Compassion in Action – Supporting Children’s Healthcare

Under the theme ” Heartbeat of Humanity,” on March 24th, the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, led by Mrs. Gehan Faheem, along with club members, visited Al-Nas Children’s Hospital.

They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Wissam Mohamed Amir, who guided them on a tour of the hospital’s various departments. She shared the inspiring story of its late founder, Khamis Asfour, who envisioned a hospital where the poor and underprivileged receive the same quality of medical care as the wealthy. To fulfill this vision, he established Al-Nas Hospital to provide entirely free treatment to those in need.

After his passing, his children, in collaboration with businessman Ayman Mamdouh Abbas and generous philanthropists, carried on his mission. Their dedication has transformed the hospital into a world-class medical facility, equipped with cutting-edge technology in cardiology, neonatal care, burn treatment, and a specialized autism rehabilitation center that supports both children and their families.

At the end of the tour, the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City presented a donation check of 51,000 Egyptian pounds to the hospital administration, reaffirming their commitment to this remarkable medical institution.

A touching initiative that embodies the true spirit of compassion and giving.
