Supporting Children with Intellectual Disabilities
Beneficiaries: 129 Children

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria
Mediterranean visited Fairhaven School for Mental Challenges, affiliated
with the Evangelical Church. The school is dedicated to enhancing the
lives of children with disabilities from all social backgrounds and
promoting their integration into society. It currently serves 129
children with intellectual disabilities.

Medical Seminar

Medical Seminar

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity” and in alignment with the core
objectives of the International Inner Wheel President for the year
2024/2025 —particularly the prevention of cervical cancer—and
coinciding with World Cancer Day in February, the Inner Wheel Club of
Alexandria, led by Mrs. Mona El Hakim organized an insightful seminar on
Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Syrian Club.

The event featured a distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Mahmoud Hamdy,
Consultant and Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Faculty of
Medicine, Alexandria University. His presentation covered essential
topics related to breast tumors and cervical cancer, emphasizing
preventive measures. The session proved highly beneficial to attendees,
offering them valuable medical insights.

The interactive discussions between Dr. Hamdy and the club members
enriched the seminar, making it even more impactful. The event was
graced by the presence of Dr. Mervat El Azzouni, Vice Chairman of
District 95 (Egypt & Jordan), and Dr. Amel El Ghitany, District 95
Webmaster.

The seminar was a resounding success, providing attendees with
invaluable medical knowledge in an engaging and informative atmosphere.

In alignment with the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” the Inner Wheel
Club (IWC) of New Cairo, under the leadership of Miss Lina Shaker,
continues to prioritize the welfare of orphans and young individuals
with special needs. The club actively provides educational opportunities
and fosters their integration into society.

As part of its third initiative this year, IWC New Cairo organized a
cultural and entertainment excursion for 15 students from the Charitable
Society for Child Welfare for Orphans. The students attended a
performance of “Fares Yakshef El Mastour” by the renowned Mohamed
Sobhi—a play that blends purposeful comedy with themes of education
and patriotism, particularly for younger generations.

Following the performance, Mohamed Sobhi engaged with the students,
taking commemorative photos and sharing moments that made their
first-ever theater experience even more memorable. Meeting such an
iconic figure in Egyptian contemporary theater was an unforgettable
highlight for the children.

The event was attended by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, IWC New Cairo PP and
former Vice NR of District 95, Mrs. Manuela Al-Wakeel, a member of IWC
New Cairo, and Mrs. Maha Ragab, a member of IWC Sharm El-Sheikh. As the
Charitable Society for Child Welfare is a sustainable project of IWC
Sharm El-Sheikh, IWC New Cairo distributed toys and sweets to the
students, promising a follow-up gathering in the near future.

This initiative exemplifies IWC New Cairo’s ongoing commitment to
empowering young individuals and enriching their lives through
education, culture, and community engagement.

“Beauty and Hope”: A Special Evening Celebrating Inclusion and Creativity

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Inner Wheel Club of Damanhour, in
collaboration with the Honorary Italian Consulate in Alexandria M.s
Mario De Parquale and the “Donetna” Association for the Blind, hosted an
inspiring evening titled “Beauty and Hope.” The event brought together
key figures and supporters, including Dr. Mervat El-Azouni, Vice
Chairman of District 95 Egypt and Jordan, and Dr. Amel El-Ghaitany,  D95
Webmaster , to celebrate the talents and resilience of the visually
impaired community.

Highlights of the Evening

Welcome Address by Italian Consul Mario De Pasquale

The consul warmly welcomed attendees and expressed his commitment to
supporting the visually impaired.

He emphasized the importance of accessibility in all areas of life,
advocating for inclusive initiatives.

Speech by Dr. Amel El-Ghitany

As a consultant in neurology and psychiatry, Dr. El-Ghitany discussed
the mental health needs of people with disabilities.

She focused on empowering them to achieve independence and integrate
fully into society.

Presentation by Mr s. Hanan Hashish

Chairperson of the “Donetna” Association for the Blind, Ms. Hashish
shared the association’s mission and impact.

She highlighted their training programs, which equip members with skills
to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Artistic Performance

The association’s music team delivered an emotional and uplifting
performance under the guidance of their trainer, Ms. Noha Alaa El-Din.

The evening concluded with a tour of an exhibition featuring exquisite
handmade products crafted by visually impaired artisans. Guests
expressed admiration for the precision and vibrant beauty of the pieces,
showcasing the remarkable creativity and talent of the contributors.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign

 Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity”, and in line with
January—Cervical Cancer Awareness Month—the Inner Wheel Club of
Cairo, led by Mrs. Boosy Hassanien and attended by esteemed members
organized an impactful awareness campaign in collaboration with the
Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Oncology at Kasr Al-Ainy.

The campaign was held on Wednesday, January 22nd, at 11:00 AM in the
Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Kasr Al-Ainy, under the esteemed
patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Hossam Salah, and
Professor Ahmed Abdel Mageed, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology
Department.

The event emphasized the importance of embedding cervical cancer
awareness as a core component of internship training for medical
graduates. Notably, the Inner Wheel Club of Cairo had previously
collaborated with the Presidential Initiative to advocate for the
inclusion of this awareness in school curricula, aiming to foster health
education among younger generations.

This initiative reflects a strong commitment to the vital role of civil
society in promoting awareness, encouraging early detection, and
building a healthier society capable of addressing both health and
societal challenges.

Support  education for visually impaired students

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” the
Inner Wheel Club of Tanta, led by Mrs. Amal Galal Ezzat and accompanied
by several club members organized a visit to the School for the Blind in Tanta.

During the visit, the club delivered a quantity of Braille-specific
paper to meet the school’s needs and support its use throughout the
academic year. This initiative comes as part of the club’s commitment
to enhancing the educational experience for visually impaired students
and facilitating their learning process.

Seminar on Women in the Diplomatic Field

 Seminar on Women in the Diplomatic Field

On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Alexandria,
led by Ms. Mona El Hakim hosted Counselor Abeer Ali, Consul General of
Lebanon in Alexandria, for a seminar titled “Women in the Diplomatic
Field.”

The event was attended by Vice Chairman Dr. Mervat El Azzouni, Webmaster
Dr. Amel El Ghitany, District Past Chairman Mrs. Mona Aref, along with
the presidents and members of the Inner Wheel clubs of Alexandria and
distinguished guests.

Counselor Abeer Ali shared her extensive experience and insightful
perspectives on the evolving role of women in international relations.
Her presentation covered key topics, including:

The historical challenges women have faced in the diplomatic field.

The value of women’s perspectives in decision-making and
peace-building processes.

Effective strategies used by women to overcome barriers in diplomacy.

An engaging discussion followed, addressing the challenges faced by
female diplomats, their advocacy for women’s issues, and their
contributions to promoting gender equality in diplomatic roles. The
session also highlighted progress made toward achieving gender parity in
this field.

In a gesture of appreciation, each club president presented their
club’s flag to Counselor Abeer Ali. The event concluded with group
photos, celebrating the occasion in an atmosphere of friendship,
collaboration, and mutual respect.

Book Club Meeting(Cultural Seminar)

Book Club Meeting(Cultural Seminar)

On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the third book club meeting for the
2024-2025 year was held under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity.””
This event was organized by  Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of New Cairo, led by
Miss Lina Shaker, in collaboration with the IWC of Nasr City, under the
leadership of Mrs. Jihan Fahim.

The meeting featured renowned writer and consultant Ashraf El Ashmawy,
who discussed his novella Births of the Zoo.” This unique literary work
comprises three short novellas that address pressing societal issues
such as corruption, unemployment, and nepotism. Through his
thought-provoking storytelling, the author uses literature as a lens to
expose the harsh realities and complexities of these challenges.

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests,
including Mrs. Omnia Hanna, the Honorary Secretary of District 95; Mrs.
Siham Al-Gohary, a former member of the Inner Wheel International Board
of Directors; Mrs. Dina Nashed, Past Assistant Governor of Rotary; Dr.
Hassan Shaker, Past President; and Mr. Hilmy Al-Saeed, Past President of
the Nasr City Rotary Club. Several Rotary Club members also attended,
enriching the event with their engagement.

During the meeting, Ms. Lina Shaker, President of the New Cairo Club,
along with Mrs. Siham Al-Gohary and Mrs. Nihal Elbakry presented Mrs.
Manuel El-Wakeel with the Inner Wheel pin, officially welcoming her as a
member of the New Cairo Club.

To commemorate the occasion, a symbolic gift was presented to Ashraf El
Ashmawy, and special gifts were distributed to all attendees in
celebration of the book club’s ten-year anniversary, marking its
establishment in 2015. The event concluded with a shared sense of
camaraderie, inspiration, and a commitment to fostering dialogue through
literature.

Bonds of Friendship and Sisterhood

Under this year’s Inner Wheel theme, “Heartbeat of Humanity,” Inner
Wheel Club of Giza Pyramids, led by Mrs. Eman Saleem and Honorary
Secretary Mrs. Azza Dowidar organized a delightful recreational trip to
El Gouna resort in the Red Sea Governorate from January 13 to 16. The
trip aimed to showcase the beauty of Egypt’s stunning tourist
destinations.

The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Abeer Dajani,Chairman of
District 95 Egypt and Jordan, along with members from various Inner
Wheel clubs across Egypt and Jordan.

The trip was marked by an atmosphere of warmth, love, and camaraderie.
Members enjoyed the tranquil beauty of the Red Sea, its crystal-clear
waters, and breathtaking surroundings. This memorable gathering offered
a unique opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and
sisterhood, perfectly reflecting the true spirit and mission of the

Inner Wheel Clubs Present Initiatives to District Chairman Under the
Theme “Heartbeat of Humanity”

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, under the theme” Heartbeat of
Humanity,” Inner Wheel Club of Giza, led by Mrs. Mona Gimaie, in
collaboration with Inner Wheel North Cairo, presided by Mrs. Magda Azam,
and Inner Wheel Club of Gezira, led by Mrs. Asrar Al-Borqi hosted a
distinguished meeting at the Egyptian Automobile Club. The event was
graced by the presence of Mrs. Abeer Dajani, Chairman of District 95
(Egypt and Jordan), along with esteemed members of the district board.

The gathering commenced with warm welcoming remarks from the presidents
of the respective clubs to Mrs. Abeer Dajani, followed by presentations
from each president detailing their clubs’ initiatives and activities
for the year. In her address, Mrs. Abeer Dajani commended the clubs’
efforts and highlighted the importance of expanding membership. She
further demonstrated her support by making a financial contribution to
each club. The exchange of commemorative gifts added a touch of
cordiality to the proceedings.

During the event, Mrs. Nagwa Al-Akkad, a newly inducted member of the
Inner Wheel Club of Giza, was formally presented with the Inner Wheel
badge, marking her official welcome into the Inner-wheel The occasion
also featured birthday celebrations for Mrs. Nadia Al-Miqatty and Mrs.
Hala Hagrass, adding a festive and jubilant atmosphere to the event.

The meeting radiated a spirit of friendship and mutual support,
reflecting the shared dedication to fostering collaboration among the
various Inner Wheel clubs. Attendees left with a renewed sense of
