Joint art competition Violence against women

On Monday, November 25, 2024, the International Day for the Elimination
of Violence against Women. IWC of Alexandria Capital, headed by Dr.
Nevine Abdel Rassoul participated in art completion activities with the
anti-Violence against Women Unit headed by Prof. Dr. Manal Fouda, in
partnership with the Women and Girls Committee in Rotary District 2451
Egypt and many Rotary Clubs in Egypt. It was attended by Vice President
Prof. Dr. Suzan Darwish, and club members Mrs. Iman Karkoura, Mrs. Amel
Elessawy, and Dr. Ola Saleh.
The students were participating in the competition, under the name of
anti-violence, which included:

4- Animation
5- Caricature
6- Music Composition
7- Individual Acting
8- Playwriting
9- Short films
10- Short story
11- Photography

Chairman Visit to IWCs of Port Said and Ismalia

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” IWC of Port Said celebrated the
annual day of IWC of Port Said and Ismalia. We were honoured by the
attendance of Mrs/Abeer Djani, district 95 Egypt and Jordan Chairman,
accompanied by the Jordanian delegation, the Executive Council of the
District and the members of IWC Clubs. The guests were received by the
sesame band (from the heritage and flocolor of Port Said). The ceremony
began with the playing of Egyptian and Jordanian national anthems and
standing for a minute of mourning for the loss of loved ones, then a
short video presentation of Ms. Samia Matar journey, may God have mercy
on her.
After that, Mrs. Abeer Dajani spoke her word, followed by the president
of IWC of Port Said, Mrs. Maha Elmogy, she explained the Achievements of
IWC of Port Said Club during the past year also then Mrs. Lola Badran,
the president l of IWC of Ismalia club, gave her speech. We played
Al-tombola, distributed gifts, took a look at the helded bazaar, and ate
lunch. It was a day full of love and friendship spirit.

Joint Cultural Visit to Cairo

District 95: Egypt and Jordan
Joint Cultural Visit to Cairo.

IWC of Alexandria Mediterranean, led by Heba Aboulnasr, collaborated
with the Alexandria Sunrise Rotary Club organized a cultural trip to
Cairo for three days the clubs’ members visited the eternal monuments of
Saqqara,which including the Serapeum, the tombs of ministers, and the
oldest stone structure in history, composed of 14 million stones. also
toured the Egyptian Postal Museum, all are always a source of pride and
evidence that Egypt is the cradle of civilizations throughout the ages.

In addition, the members enjoyed a delightful Nile cruise, an evening
aboard the Saraya boat, and concluded the trip with a final lunch at
Izmir Saray Restaurant .The trip was thoroughly enjoyable for everyone .

Charity Bazaar
 Support Children’ s Cancer Hospital

IWC of Alexandria Mediterranean , headed by Heba Abu Al-Nasr, held the
annual bazaar for the benefit of the Children’s Cancer Hospital in
Burj Al Arab. The attendance was large from Alexandrian society ladies
from inside and outside the Inner wheel Clubs.It also included
entertainment for the guests to add joy and fun.

World Diabetes Day (WDD) Celebration

On 14 of Nov 2024
 Inner wheel Club of Alexandria East, headed by Mrs Magda Sallam,
participated with the African Center for Women’s Health Services and Noon Foundation in
their celebration under the name of “Diabetes museum “on the
occasion of World Diabetes Day.
Through the Diabetes Museum, they reviewed the development of the
disease since the days of the Pharaohs and how it was discovered and
treated .
A number of specialized doctors explained the importance of early
detection ،how to protect eye complications , diabetic nutrition, and
its role in avoiding diabetic consequences and its complications .
It was a successful and useful celebration.

Membership Growth and Constitution Awareness

On Saturday, November 9, District 95 Egypt and Jordan held a seminar
that included the IWCs of Alexandria and Damanhour to celebrate the
addition of 10 new members. The first workshop of the year was held to
introduce the new members to the Inner Wheel Constitution. It was
delivered by Dr. Awatif El-Nasharty, the Chairman Extension. The new
amendments to the constitution were explained to all members as well.
The workshop was held in the presence of the National Representative,
Mrs. Samia Abul Fotouh, Dr. Mervat El-Azouni, the vice chairman, Mrs.
Ghada Rahmy, the Editor, and Dr. Amel El Ghitany, the webmaster. The
heads of the Inner Wheel clubs in Alexandria and Damanhour and around 70
members from the various clubs of the district were also in attendance.
Many points were discussed, members’ questions were answered, the new
members were awarded the Inner Wheel badge, and commemorative photos
were taken.

Cultural Visit

On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, IWC of Zamalek, headed by Mrs. Sanaa Eid
and accompanied by Mrs. Samia Abu Al-Fotouh, the National
Representative, Mrs. Baheya El Maadawi, the vice president and a number
of honourable members, visited the Grand Egyptian Museum on the Giza
Plateau, which is considered the largest in the world. The group enjoyed
a guided tour of select areas, including the Grand Hall and the Grand
Staircase. The Grand Staircase tells the story of the sacred places of
worship, the king, and his relationship with the machine, in addition to
the afterlife and life of the ancient Egyptians. It revealed a surprise
that no one expected. We have artefacts displayed in its exhibition
halls dating back 700 thousand years BC.
The new museum is designed to include newer technologies, such as
virtual reality. At the end of the tour, the group visited the GEM gift
shop, commercial area, and food court and had lunch at one of the
restaurants.

Support Children with special needs

On Tuesday, November 20
Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” Inner Wheel Club of West Cairo,
led by Mrs. Nadia El-Rashidi, Dr. Zainab El-Ghazali, the club’s
treasurer, and Mrs. Shadia Shafik, the club’s delegate, visited a
special needs school in the Manshiet Radwan area in Giza . This school
is helping a group of children who are able to lead normal lives with
the help of those around them. The focus is on rehabilitation, care,
employment, education, and developing self-competence, as well as
providing them with the appropriate ways to interact . The visit
included attending their annual ceremony and participating in this
beautiful day.

Celebrating the 31st anniversary of IWC of Nasr City

On Monday, November 11th, at Mastaka Restaurant in the Fifth
Settlement, the members of the IWC of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Mona
El-Gemaei celebrated its 31st anniversary in the presence of the club’s
founder, Mrs. Siham El-Gohary and to welcome the Jordanian guests for
their visit to Egypt.

The celebration was honoured by the presence of Mrs. Iman ElBashary,
member of the International Board of Directors, Mrs. Hanaa El-Sadat,
Vice Chairman D95, Mrs. Emmy Hanna, Honorary Secretary, Mrs. Amel
El-Ghitany, Webmaster D95, Mrs. Awatef El-Nasharty, The Club Member and
Extension Chairman D95, and Mrs. Mona Abou El-Fotouh, Past Chairman D95.

Also, the celebration was honoured by a number of national
representatives and former district chairmen,
Ms. Afef Majed, Mrs. Nadia El Mikati, Mrs. Zainab Taki, Mrs. Dina
Ghorab, Mrs. Nora Fayek and Mrs. Laila El Aswad, former member of the
International Board of Directors and Mrs. Jumana Masry, the former
member of the International Board of Directors.

The IWC Presidents of Amman, Sphinx and Nile, Mrs. Fadia Yard , Mrs.
Inas Megahed and Mrs. Monica el Wakil joined the party.

Support Education Encouraging academic excellence

On Monday, November 11th, 2024, under the theme of the year “Heartbeat
of Humanity,” Inner Wheel Club of Sphinx headed by Mrs. Enas Megahed
held the charity bazaar for clothes at the Faculty of Music Education in
Zamalek. The profit was donated for the benefit of students who are
struggling to pay their tuition fees. During the bazaar, an award was
given to a student for her academic excellence. The club also celebrated
a club’s member birthday, Rabab El -Fiky, in a special atmosphere among
the students. Certainly, the charity bazaar is one of the club’s
sustainable projects. The bazaar was attended by club members Enas
Megahed, Ghada Barakat, Omima Ezzat, Hala Farouk, Rabab Elfiky, Hanan
Fakhry, Nahed Issa, Hanan Azmy, Soha Salem and Dalia Hassanien. A number
of students helped in the bazaar arrangements. Many thanks to those who
contributed to the success of the bazaar, with our wishes for more
success in charitable work in the future.
