Alexandria Capital Club – charitable exhibition of clothes for students of the Faculty of Medicine of Alexandria University

Alexandria Capital Club.

On Wednesday and Thursday, December 13th and 14th, 2023,

Members of Alexandria Capital, led by Dr. Nevine Abdel Rassoul,

and secretary Dr. Ola Owais, actively participated in a charitable exhibition of clothes for students of the Faculty of Medicine of Alexandria University. This event was organized by the esteemed member, Prof. Dr. Pacint Moez.

It was agreed that the proceeds from the exhibition would be allocated to the environmental protection and agriculture project held at the Social Welfare Home for Homeless Children.

We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our members who generously donated clothes and made remarkable efforts for this cause.

Alexandria Mediterranean – donation to the Maamoura Psychiatric Hospital

On December 12/2023 &
in the presence of the founder of Alexandria Mediterranean IWC Mrs.
Viola Ramsis & the president Dr. Eman Shafshak, & board members made a
donation to the Maamoura Psychiatric Hospital. They gave 50 fruit trees,
including citrus fruits, oranges, tangerines, lemons, and guavas, to be
planted for the benefit of the patients.
The club also donated five benches made of wood and iron for the
patients use & comfort to avoid sitting on the ground, thus protecting
them from the sun & rain. Thanks for the club members for their
contributions to this project. Dr. Mohamed Zohdy , Director of the
Hospital, was admired for his interest and good reception of club
members.
It is worth noting that this hospital treats patients free of charge and
has 950 beds.

Philadelphia Club – meeting to renew lasting bonds of friendship over lunch

Philadelphia Club.
December 14th.
“Renewing love and strengthening friendship ties, is what we shine a
light on today, in addition to welcoming new members.”

On Tuesday December 12/ 2023 the members of Philadelphia IW Club, headed
by Mrs. Hanan Ghawi and with the participation of friends from Amman and
Petra Clubs, met to renew lasting bonds of friendship over a luncheon at
the Jordan Intercontinental Hotel.
The ladies welcomed the two new members, as Mrs. Nahla Qubain, the
National Representative , pinned Mrs. Sanaa Hakim with the club’s pin
as a new member after reading the New Inner Wheel Member Oath.
Also, Mrs. Alia Alayan, the webmaster, pinned Mrs. Lydia Sunaa, as a new
member.
The participants were also honored by the presence of District 95/ vice
chairman Mrs. Rula Farraj , and Mrs. Nuha Asfour, President of Amman
Club.
The gathering was marked by exchanging wishes for a new year filled with
peace and love.

New Cairo Club – The Friends of a Bright Tomorrow Association visit

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, under the slogan, ‘Shine a Light,’ Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, President of New Cairo IWC along with the club members, Miss Alyssa Depoyan, Miss Miral Kouchok, and Mrs. Rania Al-Kashef, visited ‘The Friends of a Bright Tomorrow Association’.

The project

“Thermal Printing Workshop.”

This workshop provides an opportunity for young people to develop their computer skills and learn about modern programs to facilitate printing on items such as gift boxes, plastic bags, cups, T-shirts, backpacks, and handbags. It can also be used to print banners for goods, plastic products, textiles, different types of fabric, bags of various sizes, school pencil cases, and pins with the club logo on them.

The Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo supports this small workshop by providing them with all their printing needs.

Mrs. Nihal Al-Bakry expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Shahinaz Hashim and everyone involved in the association’s organized work wishing them continued success in the future.

The Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo would highly appreciate it if other Inner Wheel Clubs supported the workshop by purchasing its products, which would benefit both parties. The young people will have the opportunity to develop their capabilities, and the clubs can purchase high-quality printing services at a reasonable price.

Apart from Thermal Printing, The Friends of a Bright Tomorrow Association also offers another workshop for printing Calendars and Business Cards. It’s a one-stop shop for all your printing and designing needs!

Nasir City Club – Book Club Meeting – The Maximum Speed is Zero club

On Monday, December 11th, 2023, the third book club meeting was hosted by

Nasr City club led by Mrs. Sherine Arafa, & New Cairo IWC led by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, “founder”.

The special guest was

Counselor Achraf El Achmawi, who discussed his book, “The Maximum Speed is Zero.”

The story is set in the upscale neighborhood of Garden City before the July Revolution, about an Egyptian family navigating various changes and upheavals across different timelines. Al-Ashmawi skillfully portrays the family through twin brothers Shokri and Fahmi, highlighting their differences. Seamlessly blending history and fiction, Al-Ashmawi

delves into childhood experiences, romantic and political adventures, and religious tensions, particularly the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood. The narrative is enriched by the character of Fayez Habashi, a radio anchor who enjoyed nearly 30 years of active and successful broadcasting.

Mrs. Noura Fayek, Mrs. Hala Hagras, and Mrs. Ashnadel Helmy, were among the guests along with the

Book club members.

The meeting was hosted at Mrs. Maha El samadony home. The members thanked the hostess for her warm & generous hospitality.

Port Said Club – invitation from the Al-Safwa Cultural Salon

December 15th.

On Wednesday December 13/2023 Port Said IW club responded to an invitation from the Al-Safwa Cultural Salon, represented by:

Mrs. Lucy Mandour, CEO of the Al-Safwa Association,

to attend a cultural symposium entitled “Culture of Society and the Courage of the Sick.”

They hosted Ambassador Nabila Makram, former Minister of Immigration and founder & CEO of the Fahim Foundation.

Ambassador Nabila Makram spoke about the role of society in understanding, accepting and supporting people with mental illnesses in psychiatric hospitals, schools and universities.

Also the role of training social workers of new methods of treating the sick so they can adapt to society thus helping in minimising psychological illnesses that may lead some of them to suicide or unintentionally harming others.

The floor was opened for discussion.

Mrs. Lucy Mandour and Ambassador Nabila Makram were thanked for the interesting and fruitful symposium.

December 17th.

On December 13th & 14th,2023 Alexandria Mediterranean IW club, headed by Dr. Eman Shafshak, with secretary Shadia El-Derini and treasurer Soheir El-Fouly, participated in an exhibition of clothing for university students at the Alexandria Faculty of Medicine—

“The Community and Environment Service Sector”, is located within the Faculty of Medicine.

The exhibition also serves the faculty’s employees.

Alexandria Club – Tourism Activity

Tourism.
 Alexandria Mediterranean Club, headed by Dr. Eman Shafshak and honorary
secretary Shadia El-Derini, organised a trip to the city of El Gouna,
Red Sea Governorate,to increase the bond and friendship between the
members and to stimulate Egyptian tourism.

Zamalek Club – Lecture about the Arab Israeli conflict

Zamalek Club.
November 22nd.
On Tuesday November 21st 2023 and under the Slogan” Shine a Light “
On the current situation in Gaza Innerweel El Zamalek together with IW
El Guiza,
IW Sharm El-Sheikh and IW El Nile, gathered in the presence of District
chairman Mrs.Mona Abou El Fetouh accompanied by three prominent members
of the District board.
All four clubs and a large number of attendees hosted the famous writer
and historian Lamis Gaber who first briefly talked-about her successful
marriage with renowned actor Yehia El Fakharany just after their
graduation as Doctors from Faculty of Medicine and then started her
valuable reviews
shedding a light on the historical roots of the Arab Israeli relations.
Interaction among attendees was highly informative and interesting for
everyone and the meeting ended with the highest appreciation to our
renowned speaker Dr. Lamis Gaber.

Workshop for the Inner Wheel Clubs

Workshop for the Inner Wheel Clubs.

November 22nd.

District chairman Mrs. Mona Abu Al-Futouh, held a workshop on Sunday,
November 19/2023, at the Azzar Hall in Zayed, in which Dr. Mervat
Al-Azouni, the former website administrator, provided an explanation of
the method of filling out the archives of the Inner Wheel clubs,
provided that each club has a specialized file on Google Drive. This
link will be activated in the coming days, and the private link will be
sent to each club on the club’s official email, provided that the
club’s data must be filled out in English .

Ms. Nelly Helmy, responsible for club developments, spoke about the
Inner wheel constitution; the role of the delegate in the clubs, and the
conditions for joining new members .

The symposium was attended by members of the District & many ladies from
various clubs.

Mrs. Mona Abu Al-Futouh stated that there will be three awards for the
three best archive files carried out by the clubs .

The symposium lasted two hours, and the members thanked all participants
and took souvenir photos
