Children and Elderly care

Under the theme of “Heartbeat of Humanity,” and in conjunction with the
presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development,” Inner
Wheel Club of Sharm El Sheikh, headed by Mrs. Nazik Fayek organized a
picnic trip to Al Karma 2 Compound, Sheikh Zayed, in the clubhouse, with
children aged from 5 to 7 from the Child Care Association,” Dar
Al-Fustat” and elderly people from “Dar Al-Habayeb for the Elderly” in
Maadi, under the auspices of the President of Rotary Katameya, Dr. Samia
Sabry (Sharm El-Sheikh member). That was with the participation of Vice
President of Rotary Cairo North, Nora Fayek (also a Member of Sharm El
Sheikh and Past Chairman of District 95). They were joined on this day
by the National Representative Mrs.Samia AboulFotouh, Vice President of
District 95, Egypt and Jordan, Mrs. Hanaa Al Sadat, Honorary Secretary,
Mrs. Amani Hanna, and the International Organizer, Mrs. Abeer Ezzat. The
members tried to teach and inspire them. They prepared home-cooked
lunches and distributed them themselves. They enjoyed eating to the
tunes of music. They also played games and watched different famous
shows which made them feel at home in the family atmosphere they missed.
Finally, the club provided gifts for both the children and adults. Huge
thanks to everyone who contributed to this humanitarian work that
touched the hearts of the needy people and gave hope, and added a smile
to everyone.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, under the theme “ Heartbeat of
Humanity”, the “Inner Wheel Club of Giza” , headed by Mrs. Mona
Gamaei visited Sayeda Khadija Primary School in Mohandessin . During the
visit, 35 school uniforms were delivered to the most needy children. In
addition, the tuition fees were paid for 20 students, wishing everyone a
successful and fruitful school year.

Support Cancer Patients Project

Support Cancer Patients Project.

With October being the wordwide breast cancer awareness month, Inner
Wheel Club of Alexandria Mediterranean, headed by Mrs. Heba Abul Nasr
attended the exhibition of cancer warriors held at the Vermillion
Gallery, Ayadi El Mostakbal Hospital, on Sunday the 12th of October
under the theme of (Heartbeat of Humanity). The club sponsored the
training of these patients for a full year, starting from October 2023
until October 2024, through the program of treating cancer patients
through art, in order to raise the morale of patients and motivate them
to learn handicrafts, through which a job market, livelihood and love
for life can be opened for them. This was done in cooperation with the
“Friends of Patients” Office at Ayadi Al Mostakbal Hospital.
The exhibition displayed their products, which included: mixed media
paintings, sculpture works, resin pieces, painting pots, and wonderful
embroidery work. The exhibition was opened by Ms. Enas Diab, a professor
at the Faculty of Specific Education and former head of the Creativity
Center, in the presence of members of the Friends of Patients Office and
members of IW Alexandria Mediterranean Club.

On Monday, October 14th, 2024, after three weeks of working , the
payment of government school fees for underprivileged students was
completed for 101 students from many schools in Alexandria (Abbas
Elakkad, Elnozhah, Elnabaweya, Cleopatrah, Heliopolis, Erfan,
Elalamein,..and others)
Work is underway to pay the fees of final year students at Alexandria
universities

October 19th, Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Mediterranean, under their
president Heba Abul Nasr, and under the theme (Heartbeat of Humanity),
in collaboration with “Ayady Elmostakble 4040 Hospital” and ” Heiba
Ezzat ​​Association”, headed by Yasmine El-Selkawy, held a party for
young cancer patients who are still receiving treatment and also who are
already recovered. The club provided meals and some school supplies for
the children in an atmosphere of joy and happiness for everyone.

Bonding Friendship with IW Branding

Mrs. Abeer Dajani – Chairman of District 95 (Egypt & Jordan) threw a
lavish dinner with live music on the terrace of the Intercontinental
Hotel in Cairo overlooking the great Nile River and the fascinating
beauty of Cairo city on September 24th, 2024.

Mrs. Dajani meant to start the IW year with positive friendship bonding
between District Board members, National Representative – Samia Aboul
Fotouh, IIW Board member – Iman Bashari, PIIW Board Directors of
District 95, Past National Representatives, Past Chairmen 95, all
Presidents of Egypt & Jordan clubs, and all IW attendees held posts or
are now holding current posts, as well as the wife of the Jordanian
ambassador in Cairo.

Also, the Chairman keened publishing the IW logo on napkins and on
souvenir gifts. The attendees were 83 delegates, and all of them enjoyed
the beautiful songs of the band in an ambience of joy and happiness.

International Tourism Day/Peace Day.

On Saturday, 28th September 2024, under the theme “Heartbeat of
Humanity”, The IW Clubs of Alexandria (Alexandria, East, El Nozha,
Sporting, Mediterranean and Capital) in collaboration with the “Ministry
of Tourism” and the “Yacht Club of Egypt”, celebrated the International
Day of Peace & Day of Tourism at the Yacht Club of Egypt. This reflects
on the profound connection between tourism and peace.

The celebration started by planting an olive tree “Wish Tree” and
included a mural for peace and tourism painted by Kemet Institution’s
youth and art exhibition by “Sohbet Fann” group. The art exhibition for
peace provided children and youth with a temporary escape from
destructive conflict and simultaneously provides them with an outlet for
their emotions, opinions, and hopes for the future.

The celebration also included Indian folklore dance by “Mawlana” centre,
Egyptian Pharaonic dance by “Tafanin Academy” and a bazaar for
traditional pharaonic, Indian and Russian handicrafts.

Finally, a seminar for peace and tourism was held where the following
topics were covered “Peace building” and “The role of art in promoting
tourism and peace.” The speakers in this seminar included: Prof. Mervat
El Azzouni – Vice Chairman of District 95, Mrs. Mona El Hakim –
President of Peace Committee Rotary Egypt/President of IWC Alexandria,
Mr. Mario De Pascoaly – Honorary Consul of Italy, Mr. Arsini M. –
Director of the Russian Cultural House & Deputy Consul General of
Russia, Ms. Farrah El Dibany, super soprano, and Eng. Hassan Wasfy –
Syndicate of Fine Arts.

The celebration was attended by Dr. Amel El Ghitany- District 95
Webmaster, the IWC’s of Alexandria Presidents, Mrs. Magda Sallam (IWC
Alex East), Mrs. Heba el Kady (IWC Alex ElNozha), Mrs. Amany Selim (IWC
Alex Sporting), Mrs. Heba Aboul Nasr (IWC Alex Mediterranean), Mrs.
Nevine Abd El Rasoul (IWC Alex Capital), Mrs. Soheir Fahmy (IWC Alex
Cleopatra) and Mrs. Zahra EL Lakany (IWC Damanhour).

Heartbeat of Humanity

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity”, the first preliminary
District 95 meeting was held at Le Pasha floating boat in Cairo attended
by Club Presidents, Club Secretaries, Club Treasurers, Past IIW Board
Members, Past National Representatives and Past District Chairmen on
Tuesday, September 24, District NR Mrs. Samia Aboul Fotouh briefed the
audience on the three-year Service projects, the seven IW projects IIW
President Mamta Gupta called for to concentrate on and her vision for
this year.
District Chairman Mrs. Abeer Dajani elaborated on every and each point
and gave examples how to implement them.
To raise awareness on two major projects IIW President Mamta Gupta
called for
a speaker on Cervical Cancer one of the major projects for this year, Dr
Amel El Sissi was invited to brief the audience on its three steps of
cure.
Dr Tandiar Masoud as well from Hospice Egypt briefed the audience on the
palliative care they offer to the terminal patients and help their
family members on free of charge, since this is part of the elderly care
project of improving the Elderly homes.
Mrs. Chairman suggested opening “Day-care clubs” for the elderly
which would be the first idea in Egypt and Jordan to be initiated and
implemented.

The meeting banquet room had unusual full occupancy and was lit by
candles and flowers to diffuse spirituality, love and bonding.
