District 95 Egypt and Jordan Book Club Gathering

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, our hearts came together for the fifth Book
Club meeting—one of our beloved gatherings inspired by the 2024–2025
theme, “Heartbeat of Humanity.” This meaningful event was
thoughtfully organized by the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, under the
warm guidance of Ms. Lina Shaker, in heartfelt collaboration with Mrs.
Gihan Fahim, the devoted President of the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City.

We were truly honored to be hosted by Mr. Mustafa Ebeid, the respected
Executive Editor-in-Chief of _Al-Wafd Newspaper_. He graciously shared
profound insights into his latest novel, _”The Dictator’s Daughter”_,
set in 20th-century Egypt—a time of sweeping political and social
transformation. The narrative skillfully intertwined reality and
fiction, presenting readers with a compelling dilemma from beginning to
end. Mr. Ebeid masterfully explored the visible and hidden figures of
the era, inviting us to reflect on the past in order to better
understand our present, and to seek truth in a world where reality and
imagination merge.

The evening was made even more special by the presence of esteemed
guests, including members of the district’s Board of Directors:
Mrs. Awatef El Nasharty, Club Extension Chairman for District 95;
Mrs. Hala Hagras, Past Chairman of District 95; and
Mrs. Reem Nazih, Past International Organizer for District 95.
We were also deeply honored by the participation of Mrs. Siham
El-Gohary, former member of the Board of Directors of the International
Inner Wheel (IIW), and Mrs. Mona Gemie, President of the Inner Wheel
Club of Giza.

Our gratitude extended to the distinguished members of various Rotary
Clubs, as well as our dedicated Book Club members and their cherished
guests. A highlight of the evening was the presence of Mrs. Nihal
ElBakry, founder of the Book Club and Past Deputy National
Representative, who generously presented a symbolic gift to the author
and shared heartfelt Easter gifts with attendees—beautifully prepared
by the young students of the Friends of the Bright Future Association.

This gathering was a true celebration of literature, reflection, and the
enduring bonds of love and friendship that unite us all.
