Support Cervical Cancer Screenings for Underprivileged Women
Beneficiaries 50 women
Cost 1000 JDs
On Thursday 16th January 2025, IWC of Amman President Ms Fadia Yared,
and Committee Members )Messrs. Nuha Asfour, Fatina Muna) visited the
Family Health Care Institute of King Hussein Foundation, and presented a
cheque for one thousand JDs to the Foundation’s Executive Director
Mrs. Hana Mitri, in the presence of Dr Hussein Al-Salem Center’s
Director and Dr Sara Al-Itan, for conducting examinations for fifty
women in Poor areas, including cervical screening (pap-smear).
Dr Sara Al-Itan gave us an overview of the institution’s achievements
in terms of health and education. This institution has served
marginalized areas for forty years.
It provides a wide range of integrated services in one place, such as
vaccinations, child development examinations, women’s health,
pregnancy, family planning, mental health, vision, hearing, speech, and
many other matters.
We congratulate this institution for its great efforts to serve women
and their families. This is the fourth year in a row that IWC of Amman
supported this medical institution, and we hope that it is on the
club’s list yearly.
It is worthwhile mentioning that Cervical cancer is one of the most
preventable and treatable cancers when detected early. However, for many
underprivileged women, accessing routine screenings such as Pap smears
remains a challenge due to financial and systemic barriers. Join us in
the fight against cervical cancer.
