Elimination of Violence against Women Workshop

Under the theme “Heartbeat of humanity “and on the sidelines of the
International day of Violence against Women which started from the 25th
of Nov till the 10th of December ,with the aim to make efforts during this period to educate young girls and women to confront the psychological and physical violence.
In furtherance of this goal the African Center for women’s Health
services in cooperation with Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria East headed by Mrs Magda Sallam organized a workshop on the 5th of Dec a
conforonting psychological violence for 70 girls from middle and high
schools,with the presence of members of the club .
The workshop started by a word from Dr Eman Hagag “Mental Health
Consultant“in which she reviewed the types of violence such as
domestic violence,harassment,sexual assault and cyber violence. The
causes ,forms, and their negative impact on women and society.She also
defined the word bullying .
The students then presented their experiences and the problems they
faced due to bullying and psychological violence.
Emphasis was placed on the role of the family,schools , and media to
confront all types of violence .
In the end, they suggested that values ,principles, and respect among
individuals are a must .
It was a very successful workshop .

Support Cancer Breast Warriors Friendship Bonding

On Sunday, December 1, 2024, under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,”
Inner Wheel Club of Sphinx, headed by Mrs. Enas Megahed and Inner Wheel
Club of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Mona El-Gemaei organized a special
meeting with the attendance of the play Not Romeo and Juliet, performed
by the artists Ali El-Haggar and Rania Farid Shawky at the National
Theater. 50 breast cancer fighters from Baheya Breast Cancer Hospital
were invited as a symbol of inspiration, strength, and challenge. The
ceremony began with a speech by the two presidents who welcomed the
attendees. Many members and guests attended the play. And this was in
the presence of Mrs. Seham Al Gohary, past National Representative and
the founder of IWC of Nasr City Club and Mrs. Samia AboulFotouh the D95
NR. Mrs. Mona El-Gemaei’s birthday was celebrated with the attendees and
artists. Symbolic gifts were distributed to the attendees and to the
Baheya Warriors. Baheya Warriors’ gifts were presented by Halaweyat Misr
Company to provide them with morale support. Everyone enjoyed the play
in an atmosphere of friendship and love, which was a strong evidence of
the strength that united the two clubs and the various Inner Wheel
Clubs. Best wishes for more cooperation in charitable works as always.

CANCER BREAST SEMINAR

On November 26 th Innerwheel Club of Cairo, headed by Poussy Hassanein
in partnership with IWC of Lotous headed by Maha Khairy, hosted Dr.Hanan
Gweifel in a lecture on early detection of breast cancer at le Pasha
Restaurant The lecture was delivered in an elegant manner.Dr.Hanan
excelled in simplifying the scientific information to attendees in a
perfect way. It was an informative lecture indeed.

Breaking the Silence: Addressing Women’s Violence Cases

To raise awareness against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), IWC of
Alexandria, headed by Mrs. Mona El- Hakeem visited the Abused Women Care
Centre on Wednesday, the 27th of November, in the presence of the Vice
Chairman Dr. Mervat El Azzouni and some club members. The attendees
included 35 women who were abuse survivors.
Dr. Amel El-Ghitany, a consultant of Neuropsychiatry, a member of the
club, and the district 95 Webmaster, reviewed the different types of
violence, its causes, and repercussions on the psychological and mental
state, its societal harmful effects, and the different methods of
treatment. Finally, some memorial photos were taken, and the Centre was
inspected for what it provides in terms of work opportunities through
learning some handcrafts.

Charity Exhibition for underprivileged students

On Tuesday, 26 November 2024,
Inner Wheel Club of l Alexandria Sporting , headed by Amani Selim, held
the annual exhibition for the benefit of the students of the Faculty of
Pharmacy in Alexandria.
The exhibition opening was honoured by the presence of the faculty vice
dean and a number of professors.

Elimination of Violence against Women

On Monday, November 25, the
 Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Mona El-Gemaei organized
a trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Through an educational tour inside
12 exhibition halls, the members enjoyed a fantastic journey through the
different Pharaonic eras to discover the magnificence of ancient
Egyptian civilization and learn about their religious beliefs and
inherited customs through sensory, auditory and visual presentations
that are extremely wonderful and dazzling.

The members took advantage of this gathering and raised the theme OF UN
“Orange The World”
 Stop violence against women and girls,for the period from 25th November
to 10th December,
.
They took photos in front of the museum entrance to be remembered.
After the tour that lasted about two hours, the members headed to Andrea
Restaurant in New Giza for lunch and celebrated the birthday of Mrs.
Awatef El-Nasharty, the club member and Extension Chairman of District
95, Egypt and Jordan.The trip was honored by the participation of Mrs.
Hanaa El Sadat, Vice Chairman D95, Mrs. Mona Abou El Fotouh, Past
Chairman D95 , Mrs. Afaf Maged, former National Representative D95,
Mrs.Nihal El Bakry, Founder of Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo , Mrs.
Enayat Saad El Din, President of Inner Wheel Club of Heliopolis , Mrs.
Abeer Kamel, Past President of Rotary Cairo North Club, Mrs. Lamia Eid,
Honorary Secretary to Rotary Cairo North Club, and a number of members
of the various Inner Wheel clubs in District 95.

Joint art competition Violence against women

On Monday, November 25, 2024, the International Day for the Elimination
of Violence against Women. IWC of Alexandria Capital, headed by Dr.
Nevine Abdel Rassoul participated in art completion activities with the
anti-Violence against Women Unit headed by Prof. Dr. Manal Fouda, in
partnership with the Women and Girls Committee in Rotary District 2451
Egypt and many Rotary Clubs in Egypt. It was attended by Vice President
Prof. Dr. Suzan Darwish, and club members Mrs. Iman Karkoura, Mrs. Amel
Elessawy, and Dr. Ola Saleh.
The students were participating in the competition, under the name of
anti-violence, which included:

Chairman Visit to IWCs of Port Said and Ismalia

Under the theme “Heartbeat of Humanity,” IWC of Port Said celebrated the
annual day of IWC of Port Said and Ismalia. We were honoured by the
attendance of Mrs/Abeer Djani, district 95 Egypt and Jordan Chairman,
accompanied by the Jordanian delegation, the Executive Council of the
District and the members of IWC Clubs. The guests were received by the
sesame band (from the heritage and flocolor of Port Said). The ceremony
began with the playing of Egyptian and Jordanian national anthems and
standing for a minute of mourning for the loss of loved ones, then a
short video presentation of Ms. Samia Matar journey, may God have mercy
on her.
After that, Mrs. Abeer Dajani spoke her word, followed by the president
of IWC of Port Said, Mrs. Maha Elmogy, she explained the Achievements of
IWC of Port Said Club during the past year also then Mrs. Lola Badran,
the president l of IWC of Ismalia club, gave her speech. We played
Al-tombola, distributed gifts, took a look at the helded bazaar, and ate
lunch. It was a day full of love and friendship spirit.

Joint Cultural Visit to Cairo

District 95: Egypt and Jordan
Joint Cultural Visit to Cairo.

IWC of Alexandria Mediterranean, led by Heba Aboulnasr, collaborated
with the Alexandria Sunrise Rotary Club organized a cultural trip to
Cairo for three days the clubs’ members visited the eternal monuments of
Saqqara,which including the Serapeum, the tombs of ministers, and the
oldest stone structure in history, composed of 14 million stones. also
toured the Egyptian Postal Museum, all are always a source of pride and
evidence that Egypt is the cradle of civilizations throughout the ages.

In addition, the members enjoyed a delightful Nile cruise, an evening
aboard the Saraya boat, and concluded the trip with a final lunch at
Izmir Saray Restaurant .The trip was thoroughly enjoyable for everyone .

Charity concert for children’s hospital

Charity concert for children’s hospital

Under the theme of “Heartbeat of Humanity” and with the generous
support of the members of the Inner Wheel Gezira Sporting Club, led by
Dr. Asrar El Barki, on Wednesday, 27th November 2024, the club donated a
cheque to purchase an electric ICU bed for the Japanese Abu El Rish
Children’s Hospital .This is from the proceeds of a charity event
directed for this purpose.
Many thanks and gratitude to all the club members and everyone who
contributed by attending our charity event to complete this project.
