General assembly &Hand over of D95 Egypt & Jordan

On June 17, 2023, the general assembly of District 95 (Egypt and Jordan) and handover ceremony for the new, 2023-2024, chairman was held at the Safir Hotel in Dokki, Cairo.

The meeting began with the Egyptian & Jordanian national anthems. National Representative, Ms. Suzanne Kilani, delivered her speech welcoming the District Chairman, the executive committee and the audience. She announced “Shine a Light” as the slogan for the next year, 2023-2024. She then awarded certificates and the “Margaret Golding” badge to  Mrs. Magda Fahmy and Mrs. Shahinaz Hafez, who received this award for their outstanding work outside the Inner Wheel.

Next, Ms. Nora Fayek, District 95 Chairman, gave a speech in which she thanked the NR for her distinguished work this year and the continuous presence of D95 on International Inner Wheel magazine & social media. She announced that the district was selected for a national project (Mega Project) to be presented at the IIW Convention on the occasion of the Centennial of the Inner Wheel. Ms. Fayek thanked the members of the District Committee, Ms. Enaya Shararah , Deputy National Representative, Ms. Hala Hagrass, Past Chairman , Mrs. Afaf Maged, Vice-Chairman, Ms. Abeer Dajani Vice-Chairman from Jordan, Ms. Azza Al- Mofti, Honorary Secretary, Ms. Omaima Ezzat, Treasurer, Ms. Reem Nazih, the ISO , Ms. Fatma  Abu Hatab, Editor, and Ms. Mervat Al-Azzouni, webmaster, for their outstanding work for the success of this year. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the 32 club presidents, in recognition for their efforts this year.

Shields of appreciation were presented to the members of the District Committee who ended their term this year, in gratitude for their hard and professional work together.

Finally, the handover ceremony for the incoming Chairman for the year 2023-2024, Mrs. Mona Aboul Fotouh, took place. Congratulations to Mrs. Aboul Fotouh, and her esteemed district committee . We wish her success in the coming year.

The last activity of IW Club of Amman on Tuesday 20/6/2023 was a

Fundraiser for King Hussein Cancer Center.

President Vivian Anz Qaqish welcomed Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Ali, the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Ms. Haifa Najjar, Ms. Nisreen Qatamesh, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Center, the NR Ms. Susan Al-Tayeh and VC Ms. Abeer Dajani, and the esteemed audience.

The official sponsor of the ceremony was “Madaboon” the beautiful venue that our colleague Shereen Hamarneh and her generous family kindly donated to accomplish this  gathering for a noble cause, which is to help cancer patients who are unable to afford treatment expenses.

A short film about the support  of Inner Wheel clubs of Jordan  to King Hussein Cancer Center for the past fifteen years, especially IWClub of Amman which perseveres in supporting this medical edifice  annually through its  successive administrative bodies.

The King Hussein Cancer Center honored IW Club of Amman represented by president Vivian Anz Qaqish, and also honored the official sponsor of the ceremony, “Madaboon” represented by Mrs. Shereen Hamarneh.

Club members and guests enjoyed the music of the (Jurf’s Gentlemen) band, which thankfully donated their presence.

IWC of Amman Philadelphia delivered final donation to Gaza Camp

The Inner Wheel Club of  Amman Philadelphia, presided by Mrs Duha Bushnaq Abdulhadi, made a donation of a sum of money, on June 21st, to buy vitamins and nutritional fluids to the children who undergo physiotherapy at the Medical Center-which is a part of Gaza Jerash Camp-as it was found that those children suffer from malnutrition.
With this final donation to Gaza Camp we have completed the club project for this year.
With the best wishes to our club for further progress and success.

IWC of Mansoura visited Mansoura University Medical centers.

On June 13, 2023, IWC of Mansoura visited Mansoura University Medical centers.

IWC donated Sonar devices, Fetal pulse count and 2 cervical specula with a camera. The President of Mansoura University Dr. Sherif Khater thanked IWC of Mansoura for their continuous support and donation.

Awards Celebration and Hand over of IWC of Nasr City

On June 18, 2023, in the Egyptian Diplomatic Club, the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City , headed by Mrs. Hend Mortagi, celebrated that Two of its members received prizes from the IIW.

Mrs. Shahinaz Hashem won the “Margarette Golding Award”, which is an award given to a member of the Inner Wheel for her efforts to serve the community in other than the Inner Wheel.

Mrs. Nihal Elbakry received the “Honoured Active Membership ” award.

It is an award given to an Inner Wheel member for her efforts within the Inner Wheel.

The club also celebrated the achievement of Mrs. Jumana Al-Masri from Jordan in the International Inner Wheel elections, with a seat on its Board of Directors.

The club also celebrated the new Chairman of D95, Egypt and Jordan for the year 2033-2024 Mrs. Mona Abou El Fotouh.

Everybody celebrated Mrs. Siham El Gohary  , the founder of the IWC of Nasr City, and PIIW BD Birthday with lots of joy.

The celebration also included the handover ceremony.

Mrs. Sherine Arafa occupied the position of President of the IWC of  Nasr City, for the year 2023-2024.

The celebration was honoured by Mrs. Susan Al-Kilani, the NR for D95 , Egypt and Jordan, and Mrs. Nora Fayek, D95 Chairman and members district committee and Mrs.  Ashnadelle Helmy, PIIWBD.

It was honoured by Ms. Nadia Al-Mikati and Ms. Iman Al-Bishari, Past NR , as well as Mrs. Maggie Shannan, Mrs. Samia Abul Fotouh, Mrs. Zainab Al-Ghazali, Mrs. Awatef El Nasharty, Mrs. Dina Ghorab and Mrs. Mona Aref, the Past Chairmen of District

95.

Also, it was honoured by the presence of Mrs. Zeinab Shoukry , spouse of his excellency the Egyptian Ambassador in Jordan.

The Members of IWC of Nasr City received and welcomed all the guests with hospitality and love.

IWC of Philadelphia completed the preparation of the Moonlight Association clinic.

IWC of Philadelphia completed the preparation of the Moonlight Association clinic in Al Hussein camp for refugees ,for the care of orphans.
The clinic has been retiled and provided with blood glucose meter and blood pressure devices , a trolley for medical usage and 2 desks and 2 chairs .
A doctor will be hired to work at this clinic to serve the residents of the Al Hussein camp for a symbolic pay which will in return provide some income for the Moon light association .

IWC of New Cairo launched the Thermal Printing Workshop, donated by the Club at the Friends of the Bright Tomorrow Association.

On Saturday, June 10, 2023, the President of the Inner Wheel New Cairo Club, Mrs. Nihal El-Bakry, along with her members, and the President of the Inner Wheel Club, Nasr City, Mrs. Hend Mortagy, and her members, invited the D95 Chairman, Mrs. Nora Fayek, to visit the projects of both clubs at the Friends of the Bright Tomorrow Association.

 

They toured the various sections of the association and launched the Thermal Printing Workshop, which was donated by the New Cairo Inner Wheel Club. This workshop will facilitate printing on gift boxes, plastic bags, mugs, and various types of fabric, thereby aiding in the development of young people’s computer skills and familiarity with modern software.

 

Mrs. Nora Fayek delivered a speech praising the extensive efforts made by the association to care for and rehabilitate children with autism. She highlighted the contributions of the administrative staff, teachers, and the significant role of parents in their children’s lives. Mrs. Fayek emphasized that this carnival day is the celebration of the work done by trainers for children with autism.

 

Mrs. Nihal El-Bakry, the President of the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo, expressed her gratitude to everyone responsible for the organized work carried out by the association.

IWC of Nasr City visited The Bright Tomorrow Friends Association

The Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, headed by Mrs. Hend Mortagi, and the Inner Wheel Club of New Cairo , headed by Mrs. Nihal ElBakry, received Mrs. Nora Fayek, the Chairman of District 95, Egypt and Jordan, at The Bright Tomorrow Friends Association to attend the annual and sports Celebration for the autism and medical departments.
The celebration is held Every year on June 10.

Mrs. Shahinaz Hafez, the chairman of the board of directors of the association, and the managers of the various departments in the association received them with great pleasure .

They toured the different sections of the association and visited sports section, which the Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City provided with new equipment.
In every visit to the association, the sense of responsibility increases to support more the association to help it to develop to provide its residence all their needs with a sense of love and care.

IWC of Zamalek made its annual Celebration by a show on the Stage of Ewart Hall in the AUC

The Inner Wheel Club of Zamalek made its annual end of year celebration in a beautiful, heritage cultural and artistic atmosphere the revival of our country’s dances with the AUC Alumni Folklore troupe lead by Pinky Selim.  The show was on the stage of Ewart Hall in the AUC. 

We were honoured to have among our numerous guests Mrs.  Nora Fayek District 95 chairman & several PDC

With this great wonderful evening we ended our  Inner Wheel year.

IWC of Lotus participated with the “Marriage Facilitation Association” in Nasr El Nuba

On June 9, IWC of Lotus participated with the “Marriage Facilitation Association” in Nasr El Nuba in the initiative of “Our Bride is Not Alone”, by contributing to the marriage of 30 orphan brides.

Each bride was given a cooker and a washing machine.

The association held a ceremony to hand over the equipment. The ceremony was attended by the brides and their families. Happiness and joy filled their hearts, and gratitude and thanks to everyone who contributed. The ceremony was in the Nubian style, and a beautiful evening was spent with the people of Nuba.
