Inner Wheel Club D95

Inner Wheel Petra Club, headed by Mrs. Mona Hamzeh Abu Al-Ragheb, collected donations for the relief of victims affected by the earthquake. Tens of thousands have lost their lives, with countless more injured in Turkey and Syria.
A friend of the club distributed food parcels, and infant formula herself to the victims in the city of Aleppo. She also paid for two eye operations for two inmates of the blind centre in the affected area. Their condition was severe, and the two operations saved their sight.
In addition, a three-story building was rented and the process of strengthening its walls and ceilings began, in order to accommodate those affected by the earthquake.

In continuation of the support provided by the Inner Wheel Club of Heliopolis to “Ahl Misr Hospital” for Burns (One of the sustainable club projects of the club)

‏IWC of  Heliopolis donated a cheque to the hospital to purchase a suction device for blood and fluids from the patients ( Aspirator)

IWC of Cairo West and IWC of Heliopolis in cooperation and partnership with some of the other Inner Wheel clubs of Egypt and in solidarity with the Syrian families affected by the earthquake. Both clubs donated a total amount of money to the Egyptian “Red Crescent Organization “to purchase shelter tents and pillows and bed Sheets

President of IWC of Cairo West , Dr. Faiza Farid, and Mrs.Salwa Selim President of IWC of Heliopolis and some of the Presidents of other Innerwheel clubs met with Dr. Rami El Nazer CEO of the Egyptian “Red Crescent”, who thankfully gave a detailed explanation of the tragedy of those affected by the earthquake in Syria.

He informed us of the necessary requirements, which must be sent within (48) hours to Syria. They are shelter tents, pillows and mattresses.

The most important of them at the present time are shelter tents. And it is possible to donate directly to the Egyptian “Red Crescent”.

The President of IWC of Cairo West and PDC Dr. Zeinab Al-Ghazali, also donated a large number of blankets to the earthquake victims in Syria.

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Mediterranean purchased 100 blankets, to participate in “Al-Khair Convoy” for the relief of those affected by the earthquake in Syria, praying to God Almighty that the victims rest in His mercy and heal all the injured.

The blankets will be sent through the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in Alexandria.

Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Mediterranean has visited “Wahet Nour El hayat Charity Organization” for rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. The club has donated a cheque to purchase compensatory devices and 2 Special Wheelchairs for the disabled children.

The club has also provided medications for children. The organization presented a certificate of appreciation to the club.

Thursday 16 February 2023, as a continuation of our project, under the IIW slogan “Work Wonders” the IWC of Sphinx headed by Mrs. Hanan Azmy, donated a cheque to Abu Al-Rish Children’s Hospital for the Intensive Care Unit. Sincere thanks to all those who contributed.

On February 6, 2023, when a devastating earthquake struck in Turkey and Syria, claiming tens of thousands of lives, destroying thousands of homes and building.

D95 Chairman Mrs. Nora Fayek, the NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani and the Executive committee responded to this disaster immediately.

Mrs. Nora Fayek contacted the Red Crescent Society and met with the CEO Dr. Rami Al-Nazer, on Monday, February 13, 2023, who confirmed that the Egyptian Crescent is in daily contact with the Syrian Red Crescent, to find out the required needs.

Dr. El Nazer stated that all donations will be accepted whether financial or in kind and the following is required for the initial rapid relief:

1-Blankets

2- Mattresses

3- Medical supplies

4- Tents and sheets

5- First aid kits

6- Personal hygiene tools

Helping the countries where natural disasters have occurred, such as in Turkey and Syria is one of the goals of Inner Wheel .

The International Inner Wheel called on all Inner Wheel clubs around the world to help the affected people in Syria and Turkey, knowing that there are no Inner Wheel clubs in Syria. We hope that everyone will cooperate and join hands in this humanitarian work .

Chairman of District 95 Egypt and Jordan

On Monday, February 6,2023  Mrs. Amira Aref, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Tanta accompanied by some of the club’s members, visited Tanta Fever Hospital to donate an Automated Blood coagulation analyzer (SYSMEX 101 CA). This device is important for liver patients in the internal department and coagulation assays. The members were welcomed by Dr. Mohamed Shebl, Director of hospital.

The Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria, El Nozha, headed by Mrs. Sarah Saad, distributed 100 blankets in Abyss 4.

On Thursday, February 9th, 2023 Mrs. Nora Fayek, Inner Wheel District 95 Chairman (Egypt & Jordan), inaugurated the annual charity bazaar for our esteemed Inner Wheel Club of Cairo West at Gezira Sporting Club in Zamalek, which is planned to carry on its activities & festivities for three full days, 9- 11 February 2023.

The revenue of the bazaar will be donated to support the club’s main project, “The Department of Specialized Radiology for Breast Cancer in Kasr Al-Ainy” hospital and Al-Khair Island, which sponsors the employees of Al-Gezira Sporting Club
