Inner Wheel Club D95

NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani invited IIWP Mrs. Farcon, DC Mrs. Nora Fayek, IWD members and the visiting delegation, also the presidents of Jordan three clubs and some Inner Wheel members for luncheon at Marriott Dead Sea hotel.  The guests were happy to visit the lowest point on earth (420 meters beneath sea level) and experience the dead sea salty water and oily texture. It was a lovely warm day.

Friday Morning was a special day as IIWP Mrs. Zenaida Farcon and her husband, visited the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ at Bethany on Jordan River in Dead Sea area.  NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani, DC Mrs Nora Fayek, IW Amman President Mrs. Vivian Anz Qakish and Mrs. Nuha Asfour accompanied them touring the area. She attended a ceremonial Mass on the occasion of Epiphany.

NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani welcomed the IIW president MRs. Zenaida Farcon, DC Mrs. Nora Fayek, and D95 Board members and the accompanying delegation from Egypt to their second home, Jordan.

The IIW president Mrs. Zenaida Farcon addressed the attendees of the three Jordanian clubs Amman, Philadelphia and Petra, thanking the NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani for the invitation and facilitating her trip to D95 and for her efforts in preparing for this visit, and thanked DC Mrs. Nora Fayek for the welcome and the valuable and wonderful time she had during her stay in Egypt, she also expressed her deepest condolences to  Mrs. Abeer Dajani D95 Vice Chairman in Jordan for the passing away of her mother in law, and thanked the three club presidents Mrs. Vivian Anz Qakish, Mrs. Duha Abdel Hadi, and Mrs. Mona Hamz

The IIW president talked about this years theme “Work Wonders” and the six goals set to follow. A video of the three clubs projects and activists showed what has been achieved of these goals.

She wished Jordan can create a new young generation club by targeting young girls and encouraging them to volunteer.

 

A symbolic gift was presented to IIWP Mrs. Zenaida Farcon by the three clubs Amman, Philadelphia and Petra.

An Arabic dress fashion show of Jordanian and Palestinian dresses was shown from the original collection of Mrs. Widad Qiwar.

It was a Happy atmosphere full of friendship vibes.

Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, January 11, 2023

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world, which provides a comprehensive view of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum displays many distinctive pieces that help the visitor understand the Egyptian civilization. The museum is located in the heart of Fustat, the old capital of Islamic Cairo. NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani & D95 Chairman Mrs. Nora Fayek, accompanied the IIW President Mrs.Zenaida Farcon and her husband to visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, especially the pyramid of King Khufu, which is the largest pyramid in the world and the tallest one for 3800 years. The pyramids of Giza are still one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world. They enjoyed this historic day and memorable photos were taken.

At the end of the day, they had lunch with IW ladies at Andrea restaurant.

The neighborhood of Khan Al-Khalili is 600 years old. It is considered one of the oldest markets in the Middle East, and it maintains its ancient architecture since the Mamluk era. The famous and timeless neighborhood continues to inspire writers and artists. Egypt’s foremost novelist, Nobel Laureate, Naguib Mahfouz is one of those of writers who, whose novel “Khan al-Khalili” memorializes the neighborhood’s aura. Therefore, D95 Chairman Nora Fayek was keen to host the lIW president at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant. Mrs. Zenaida Farcon and her husband enjoyed the evening, which coincided with the birthday of past president Hala Hagras. The attendees celebrated it in an atmosphere of love and friendship.

District 95 Egypt and Jordan celebrated IIW Day on Tuesday the 10th of January 2023 in the presence of the IIW President Mrs. Zenaida Farcon and First Gentleman PDG Mr. Virgilio Farcon at the Marriott, Omar Khayyam Hotel in Cairo.

 

The celebration began with the Egyptian, Jordanian and Philippines national anthems. The National Representative Mrs. Suzan Kilani delivered her speech welcoming the IIW President and thanking her for accepting D95 invitation to visit IW clubs in Egypt and Jordan.

District 95 Chairman, Mrs. Nora Fayek welcomed the IIW President, her husband, and the attendees. She emphasized the slogan of the Inner Wheel this year” Work Wonders” and praised the efforts of the Inner Wheel members in undertaking development projects in community service. She also announced the establishment of a new Inner Wheel Youth Club “New Generation Club” IWC of New Cairo presided by Mrs. Nihal El Bakry.

 

A “Meet the President “ video was played presenting the goals and objectives of the IIWP for this year 2022-2023 .

The IIW President delivered her speech, in which she expressed her appreciation of the projects presented by the IWCs of D95, especially 57357 Hospital for the treatment of children’s cancer patients, which she had visited earlier. Mrs. Farcon noted the honorable effort made by the director of the hospital, Dr. Sherif Abo Al-Naga, and the support offered by the members of the Inner Wheel. She also expressed her appreciation of Mrs. Nora Fayek’s meticulous organizational effort. To mark the establishment of the first youth club this year, the IIWP presented the Club Charter to the club president and the IW pins to the members.

The celebration included artistic performances by the children of the Tawasul Association for the Development of the “Stable Antar” district. The young performers, who are the beneficiaries of Tawasul’s educational services, were praised by the IIW president.

A short film about the projects of the Inner Wheel during the last six months — from July till December was played. It documented District 95 IWCs’ achievements of this year’s Inner Wheel goals.

IIWP honored PIIW Board Directors and Margarette Golding Recipients

The IIWP presented the pin to the NR and DC and the presidential flag to NR, DC and to members of the D95 Executive Committee.

On behalf of the D95 Inner Wheel clubs, the Chairman presented the district flag to the IIW President and a gift as a token of friendship and appreciation

 

IWC of New Cairo was formed in December 2022 with 20 young enthusiastic ladies who will be the future of Inner Wheel.

IWC of New Cairo is sponsored by IWC of Nasr City. The founding president is Mrs. Nihal El-Bakri a long-time member in IWC of Nasr City.

The IIW President Mrs. Zenaida Farcon presented the Club Charter to the newly formed club during the IIW Day celebration in Cairo, on the 10th of January 2023.

The founding president Mrs. Nihal El-Bakry and club members were honored to be presented with the presidency necklace and club members with IW pins by the IIW President.

Mrs. Suzan Kilani D95 National Representative, Mrs. Nora Fayek District 95 Chairman and D95 Executive Committee hosted the IIW President Mrs. Zenaida Farcon and her spouse PDG Mr. Virgilio Farcon over a Gala Dinner in honor of their visit to Egypt, at the Diplomatic Club in Cairo.

This special evening was in recognition of D95 P. Board Directors, P. National Representatives, P. District Chairwomen, recipients of The Margarette Award and the Presidents of the 32 IW clubs in Egypt and Jordan.

Mrs. Suzan welcomed the IIW President and her spouse and expressed gratitude to all attendees for their service to Inner Wheel since the formation of D95 Egypt and Jordan 52 years back.

On, January 9, 2023, Ms. Zenaida Farcon, IIW President on the second day of her visit in Cairo, visited Cancer children’s hospital 57357 accompanied by the NR Mrs. Suzan Kilani, and D95 Chairman Mrs. Nora Fayek. She was received by Dr.Sherif Abo El Naga the CEO of the hospital and the District committee and IW members from different clubs

Hospital 57357 is one of the sustainable projects of the IW Clubs in District 95.

The visit began with a tour in the hospital of the various departments.

Dr. Sherif Abu El-Naga, CEO of the hospital, gave a full explanation of the latest treatment equipment that serve patients free of charge, and the latest methods of technology artificial intelligence. Mused in the hospital. Then the delegation went to the art and drawing room, where art therapy takes places.

The delegation presented their donations to Dr. Sherif Abul-Naga, IWC of Zamalek, IWC of Nasr City, IWC of Sphinx, IWC of Al-Gezira Sporting and IWC of Garden City.

A documentary video presented the work & the support of IW clubs was watched by the delegation.

At the end The IIW President presented a speech in which she expressed her admiration to the support of the Inner Wheel Clubs in this great edifice.

Mrs. Zenaida Farcon, President of IIW & her husband Mr. Virgilio Farcon arrived at Cairo Airport on Sunday, January 8, 2023, on an official visit to District 95, Egypt and Jordan.
