Visit of Mona Aref Chairman of D95 Egypt & Jordan & Committee members to Nidaa Association
This project is an important milestone and unique project. The visitors observed educational classes for different ages and learned about the center’s unprecedented and expert effort in supporting children with multiple disabilities. They praised the hopeful and enlightening work of the Nidaa Association. This association was founded in 1997, in collaboration with the Perkins International Academy, which was established a hundred years earlier to support those with visual impairment. Later, the Academy founded a center to support those with hearing impairment. When this international institution began to communicate with different countries and cooperated with the Nidaa Association, which now consists of several classes, each with about 200 children. More than one center has been established in Luxor, Mansoura, Alexandria and Cairo under the supervision of specialized teachers in the rehabilitation and education of children with hearing impairments, to qualify them for study in public education schools.
Nidaa cooperates with the Ministries of Social Solidarity and Education in the field of rehabilitation to establish classrooms for students with multiple disabilities in government schools, and accredits an educational program to integrate these children into formal and informal educational opportunities. A protocol of cooperation with some Egyptian universities was signed this year. We extend our thanks and appreciation to the exceptional effort made by all the workers of this center, and for all those who work in this field. We also express our deep appreciation to the remarkable effort done by Mrs. Magda Fahmy. At the end of the visit, Mrs. Aref, District Chairman, and the accompanying delegation, distributed gifts to the children, and made a donation to Nidaa Association.
IWC of Amman become a support partner Green wheelz initiative
The concept of this initiative is to collect plastic caps of water and juice bottles, and give them to “ Green wheelz ”where university student volunteers sort them out, count and weigh them, the initiative in its turn sells these caps to be recycled, the income generated from the sale goes to help the physically challenged educationally and medically.
During the last three months, our club was able to collect a huge number of plastic caps and tins and presented them to Miss Raeda Sabha, the creator of this idea.
We kindly ask our club ladies, to keep on collecting the caps, such an easy thing to do, but the impact on the environment we live in is huge, and the help extended to the physically challenged through this initiative warms the hearts.
