Heartbeat of Humanity

IIW President, 2025-2026| Kay Morland

I am proud and deeply honoured to have been chosen to lead our wonderful organisation for the 2025-2026 Inner Wheel year and I thank you sincerely for this opportunity. It is not only an immense privilege but also a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. It’s my turn to Step Up & Lead by Example.
If my involvement with the United Nations this year taught me anything, it is that we, the members of Inner Wheel are among the most fortunate of women. Together we share a Friendship network which covers the world and provides us with opportunities to support each other, to serve our communities and contribute to the wellbeing of others on a global scale.
Our Inner Wheel objects – TO PROMOTE TRUE FRIENDSHIP – we all know, we are good at friendship, we do it well and we do it often.
TO FOSTER INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING – we action this objective every time we interact with other Inner Wheel clubs in other countries and support their projects and communities.
But the object which provides the most fulfilment is of course TO ENCOURAGE THE IDEALS OF PERSONAL SERVICE – and this is what I want to focus on. The way IW members go about making a difference. It’s not always about money but it is invariably about our support.

There are countless organisations and individuals who benefit from the support of Inner Wheel. Our clubs support charitable organisations and worthwhile causes locally, nationally and internationally by donating funds, providing goods and services and raising awareness of causes championing the health and wellbeing of women and children.
In line with our 2024-2027 IIW Project to “Reach and Inspire for a Better World”, we are encouraged to reach out with compassion and energy to weave a network of support that inspires the heart of communities, empowers others and bridges cultural, economic and social divides.
Inner Wheel members around the globe are helping many young people, girls and boys alike to be protected from abuse and exploitation, survive, grow and develop. We are all committed to giving compassionate support to areas affected by disaster and need wherever they may be.
Inner Wheel is fun and rewarding, we are a global friendship and service club with immense benefits, the benefit of knowing that we are making a difference. The benefit of working together, supporting each other and being part of an extraordinary organisation that enables us to contribute to the health and well being of our friends and neighbours across the world. The benefit of enriching our lives by being able to give back to others and that feels good.
I am extremely proud to be a member of this amazing organisation, an organisation of women from a myriad of countries, from varying backgrounds and cultures, each of us aged somewhere between 15 and fabulous, all enjoying the friendship that Inner Wheel has to offer while at the same time making a significant difference all across the world.
I urge all members to “Never lose sight of the needs of others. Nor forget to offer our help”. Let’s all make the most of our collective power to make a difference, to create recognition of Inner Wheel as a global force for the nurturing and empowerment of women and children, to ignite passion about worthwhile causes and to drive change whenever and wherever we can.
I encourage you to never waste an opportunity to reach out to others, to be kind, to be supportive, to
“STEP UP &
