Friendship Across Borders:
IWC of Amman Welcomes the Inner Wheel Club of Pordenone, Italy.
Under this year’s Inner Wheel theme, “Grow and Flourish,” the
Inner Wheel Club of Amman, headed by President Mrs. Fatena Mona Abu
Jaber, welcomed a delegation from the Inner Wheel Club of Pordenone,
Italy, on 8 October 2026.
The visit included a tour of the historic Amman Citadel, a friendly
gathering at Beit Naameh Café, and an official luncheon at Mercado
Restaurant, St. Regis Hotel, attended by the Italian Ambassador to
Jordan, Mrs. Donatella Polizzi Nicolich, former member of the Inner
Wheel International Board; Mrs. Anna Rosa Donada, President of the Inner
Wheel Club of Pordenone, District 206, Italy; and Mrs. Mayada Toukan,
Vice-Chairman of District 95, Egypt and Jordan.
During the luncheon, both clubs celebrated their longstanding
friendship, strengthened by the twinning agreement established in
2024–2025. Mrs. Fairouz Asfour, Past President of the Inner Wheel Club
of Pordenone, expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality and
invited the Amman club to visit Pordenone in 2027 to celebrate its
designation as Italian Capital of Culture.
The day concluded at Jafra Café, where the guests enjoyed authentic
Jordanian hospitality and traditional oriental sweets.
This memorable visit celebrated international friendship, cultural
exchange, and the enduring bonds between Jordan and Italy, beautifully
reflecting the spirit of “Grow and Flourish.”
