and Tradition

Under the theme “STEP UP & LEAD BY EXAMPLE”
On October 29, 2025, the IWC of Petra, under the leadership of Mrs. Mai
Al-Masri, and with the attendance of board and general members, along
with a lovely group of the club’s friends, held a special celebration
marking the olive harvest and pressing season.
The event was further honored by the presence of Mrs. Alia Alian –
Vice Chairman of District 95 (Egypt & Jordan), Mrs. Noha Asfour –
District Editor, Mrs. Abeer Dajani – Past District Chairman, and Mrs.
Hanan Aghabi – President of IWC of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Reem Soufan graciously hosted this warm gathering at her lovely
home in Marj Al Hamam 🏡, where the ladies exchanged greetings and
took commemorative photos that reflected the spirit of friendship and
affection among members and guests.
The event began with an engaging lecture by Mrs. Mayada Toukan, a
nutrition expert, who spoke about olives – their harvesting seasons,
health benefits, and methods of preservation. The talk was followed by a
lively Q&A session that enriched the discussion and created an
interactive, enjoyable atmosphere.
Afterward, the participants embarked on an enjoyable walk to O2 Terrace,
where they shared a traditional Msakhan lunch cooked with pure olive
oil, accompanied by a variety of appetizers and salads also prepared
with olive oil. The meal was enjoyed amid the soothing sounds of the
oud, a breathtaking view, and a refreshing autumn breeze.
To conclude this delightful day, the ladies gathered over cups of coffee
and tea, before heading back with hearts full of warmth, joy, and
memories of a day immersed in nature, friendship, and happiness. 🌿
