Awareness Seminar to Combat Violence Against Women in the Sadash Area
Under the theme “Step Up and Lead by Example”, and in alignment with
the global campaign to eliminate violence against women, the Inner Wheel
Club of Alexandria Mediterranean, headed by Heba Abou El-Nasr with
Honorary Secretary Hoda Arafa, organized an awareness seminar and
discussion session for the women of the Sadash area, a neighborhood
where women are often exposed to violence.
The event aimed to combat violence against women by educating
participants about their rights and the support available to them.
Speakers:
• Dr. Dalia Ahmed Wadhan, Family Medicine Specialist at San Stefano,
who addressed family counseling and education.
• Ms. Ebtessam Youssef, Legal Consultant in Family Courts and
volunteer with the National Council for Women and the Women’s
Protection Center.
The speakers responded to the women’s questions, clarified their legal
rights, and explained how they can protect themselves, seek support from
shelters for abused women, and understand the procedures followed by
these centers.
The discussions extended for more than two hours, during which all
inquiries were thoroughly addressed. It was a meaningful and impactful
seminar that significantly contributed to raising awareness and
empowering the women of the community.
