Celebrate International Sign Language Day .
Under the 2026–2027 [1] theme “Grow & Flourish,” the Inner Wheel
Clubs of Nasr City, Lotus Egypt, Giza, and El Nile participated in the
celebration of International Sign Language Day, held on Saturday,
September 26, at City Club El Obour.
The celebration was organized by the Rotary Committee for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing, headed by Mrs. Magda Fahmy, and attended by Dr. Hisham
Shawky, Governor of Rotary District 2451.
The event highlighted the importance of supporting deaf and
hard-of-hearing individuals, promoting inclusion, and encouraging their
active participation in society through sports, community activities,
and social initiatives.
Representing Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City were Ms. Mona El-Gemei, Vice
President; Ms. Lamia Eid, Club Secretary; and Ms. Shahinaz Hashem,
Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ghad Al-Mashreq Association
for the Care of Special Needs Groups.
The celebration was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Social
Solidarity, Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and the
National Council for Persons with Disabilities, reaffirming the
importance of empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing their
participation in the community.
The participation of the four Inner Wheel Clubs reflected a shared
commitment to diversity, inclusion, communication, and creating a more
compassionate and supportive society.
“In the language of signs, hands say what words cannot — love,
inclusion, and hope.” ❤️
Sincere appreciation to Mrs. Magda Fahmy and all the organizers for
their wonderful efforts and for creating an inspiring celebration that
brought people together beyond words.
