Under the theme, “ Grow and Flourish,” the Inner Wheel Club of
Alexandria Mediterranean, headed by Mrs. Hoda Sorour, with Honorary
Secretary Mrs. Meriam Goubran and in the presence of Club members,
visited Borg El Arab University Hospital for Pediatric Oncology.
As part of the Club’s first community service project for the new
Inner Wheel year, the Club donated surgical instruments worth EGP
351,500 to support laparoscopic abdominal exploration procedures for
pediatric oncology cases.
These specialized instruments allow surgeons to perform procedures
through very small openings of approximately 5 mm, enabling them to
remove tumors, take biopsies, or conduct exploratory procedures. This
minimally invasive technique contributes to faster and more accurate
diagnosis and treatment.
The donation marks an important first step in the Club’s commitment to
improving the quality of pediatric healthcare and supporting the medical
needs of children. The hospital receives approximately 120 pediatric
cases daily, making such contributions particularly valuable.
