A Day of Hope and Empowerment
On Saturday, April 18, 2026
On a warm spring day, the Inner Wheel Club of Amman (IWC of Amman) began
its visit to the “Ummi” Association in Al-Husn… a small place that
was born after the Naksa and has grown into a space filled with hope.
The association was founded in 2012 by the young woman, Dala Al-Saudi,
who carried in her heart a deep love for her homeland and a passion for
giving. She began a journey to empower women in the Shaheed Azmi
Al-Mufti Camp. Over time, the dream expanded and flourished, and
“Ummi” became a home for women who chose not to wait for
circumstances, but to create change with their own hands—supporting
their families in moving beyond the reality of camp life and breaking
away from dependency toward broader opportunities and a more dignified
life.
The day began with breakfast prepared by the women using their own
products… simple food, yet rich with love, effort, and hope.
This was followed by an embroidery activity, creating flowers that
reflected the spirit of spring and the heritage of generations past.
The visit then continued to Zubia Forest, walking along a green trail
lined with spring flowers and poppies, surrounded by maple and oak
trees—as if nature itself was embracing every step. The group reached
a viewpoint overlooking majestic mountains draped in green.
A cup of tea brewed over a wood fire, along with songs from the good old
days, brought a special warmth to the moment… before continuing the
journey to “Khayrat Souf” restaurant, set in a historic house built
in 1881, now transformed into a place that pulses with history and the
authenticity of the region.
There, lunch was not just a meal, but a story of resilience served on
every plate—crafted by women who challenged circumstances and chose
work as a path to support their families and build a better future for
themselves and their loved ones.
On the surface, it was just another spring day… but at heart, it was
rich with meaning, filled with humanity, and illuminated with hope.
