Alexandria Capital Hosts Inspiring Lecture with Dr. Wassim El-Sisi

On Sunday, October 12, 2025
The Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria Capital, in collaboration with the
Inner Wheel Clubs of Alexandria, East, Nozha, Mediterranean, Cleopatra,
and Damanhour, hosted a remarkable cultural and educational event under
the theme:

“Step Up and Lead by Example”

The guest of honor was Dr. Wassim Rushdi El-Sisi, Professor of Surgery
and Urology, as well as a distinguished scholar and researcher in the
history of Ancient Egypt.

The day began with a guided tour of the Greek Museum in Alexandria,
where Dr. El-Sisi explored key exhibits accompanied by members of the
organizing clubs. Following the tour, the group proceeded to the Syrian
Club, where Dr. Ola Owais, President of the Inner Wheel Club of
Alexandria Capital, warmly welcomed Dr. El-Sisi and the participating
clubs.

She then invited Dr. El-Sisi to deliver his captivating lecture
entitled:
“Misconceptions about Ancient Egyptian Civilization.”

During his talk, Dr. El-Sisi highlighted several widely held yet
inaccurate beliefs about Ancient Egypt. He emphasized the enduring
strength of the Egyptian civilization, which thrived for nearly 5,000
years, and asserted that Egypt is the cradle of civilization and the
true origin of humanity, contrary to claims that humanity emerged from
Ethiopia. He referenced genetic studies showing links between ancient
Egyptian genes and populations in both Asia and Europe.

He also challenged the belief that the pyramids were merely tombs,
suggesting instead—based on studies and research—that they were
likely centers for energy generation. He addressed the misconception
that ancient Egypt was a “civilization of death,” emphasizing instead
that it was a civilization of life, joy, celebration, sports, and
spiritual depth—with strong concepts of the afterlife, reward and
punishment, heaven and hell.

Dr. El-Sisi drew connections between ancient Egyptian beliefs and verses
from the Holy Quran, supporting his arguments with historical images and
religious texts that demonstrate the presence of monotheism among
ancient Egyptians.

He also spoke about the ancient Egyptian language, praising its depth
and influence. He traced the etymological roots of words from various
modern languages back to ancient Egyptian origins.

The lecture concluded with an open Q&A session, where many attendees
engaged in thoughtful discussions. Dr. El-Sisi responded with clear and
insightful answers, enriching the experience for all.

In appreciation of his contribution, the club presidents presented Dr.
El-Sisi with a commemorative shield, and the event concluded with group
photos and words of gratitude.
