Awareness Seminar on Combating Violence Against Women and Children
On Monday, December 22, 2025, under the Inner Wheel year theme “Step
Up and Lead by Example,” and within the framework of the International
Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, the Inner Wheel New
Cairo Club, presided over by Mrs. Rania El-Kashif, in collaboration with
the Inner Wheel Sphinx Club, led by Mrs. Ghada Barakat, organized an
important awareness seminar. The session was delivered by the media
expert Dr. Ibrahim El-Kerdany.
Dr. El-Kerdany addressed the serious issue of sexual and psychological
harassment against children and girls, one of the most pressing
challenges facing families today. He emphasized the necessity of
building strong bridges of trust between parents and their children,
stressing that trust is fostered not through shouting or harsh
punishment, but through love and open dialogue that encourages children
to speak openly about anything that troubles or harms them.
He also provided practical guidance on how to empower children to
confront harassment attempts, including:
Strengthening a child’s ability to refuse inappropriate requests
Avoiding responses to threats or inducements
Seeking immediate help from a trusted adult
The seminar called for the rejection of all forms of
violence—physical, verbal, psychological, and discriminatory—and
highlighted the importance of peaceful solutions and human rights in
building a safer and more just society.
The event was honored by the presence of Mrs. Dalia Nour (Honorary
Secretary of District 95 – Egypt & Jordan), Mrs. Siham El-Gohary (Past
Member of the International Inner Wheel Board), Mrs. Reem Nazih (Past
District Organizer), and Mrs. Nihal El-Bakry (Past National
Representative and Founder of Inner Wheel New Cairo Club), along with
numerous presidents and members of Inner Wheel and Rotary clubs.
The gathering concluded in a joyful atmosphere celebrating Christmas,
during which the New Cairo Club presented symbolic gifts to the
attendees. Mrs. Rania El-Kashif and Mrs. Ghada Barakat honored Dr.
Ibrahim El-Kerdany with a shield of appreciation from both clubs.
On this occasion, the Inner Wheel New Cairo and Sphinx Clubs extend
their sincere thanks to all participants and wish all clubs and members
a new year filled with success, peace, and prosperity.
