A Captivating Journey into the Human Psyche: Inner Wheel Book Club
Explores “The Strangest Tales”
On October 26, 2025, under the theme of the year, “Step Up & Lead by
Example,” the Inner Wheel Book Club of New Cairo, chaired by Ms. Rania
El-Kashef, and Inner Wheel Club of Nasr City, chaired by Ms. Mona
El-Saeed, held their second joint meeting for the year 2025–2026 [1]
in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Giza and its president,
Ms. Reem Nazih.
In one of the most unusual and captivating gatherings in the club’s
history, the members hosted Director Sameh Sand to discuss his
provocative book, “The Strangest Tales: The Complete Story.”
The meeting transcended the boundaries of a typical cultural event,
evolving into an immersive sensory experience where the hall’s décor
was meticulously designed to resemble an elaborate crime scene.
Attendees were greeted by striking statues and napkins marked with
fingerprints and traces of simulated blood, creating an atmosphere of
suspense and intrigue from the very beginning. This innovative setting
perfectly complemented the book’s mysterious themes and served as an
ideal introduction to Director Sand’s discussion.
Within this gripping ambiance, Director Sand recounted true crime
stories from around the world—real events that proved indeed stranger
than fiction. His narration went beyond mere storytelling, offering
analytical insights into the psychological and social factors that can
transform an ordinary person into a criminal.
He emphasized that the roots of criminal behavior often stem from early
psychological experiences, asserting that “Man is born a beautiful
child, but the harsh realities of life may lead him to become a
criminal.”
The discussion concluded with a powerful social message. Building upon
these insights, Ms. Nihal El-Bakry, founder of the Book Club and former
Deputy National Representative, highlighted the need for collaborative
social efforts and the vital role of charitable organizations and the
state in ensuring children’s health and psychological well-being.
She emphasized that fostering a healthy environment for children is
essential to developing balanced citizens and preventing exposure to
negative influences that may lead to criminal behavior. The event
evolved beyond a literary gathering into a societal call to action,
urging collective responsibility toward the welfare of children.
The meeting was graced by the presence of Mrs. Mona El-Gamei, Vice
Chairman of District 95; Mrs. Dalia Nour, Honorary District Secretary;
Mrs. Siham El-Gohary, Past Member of the International Inner Wheel Board
of Directors; Past District Chairmen; Mrs. Mona Abu El-Fotouh,and
Mrs.Hala Hagras, Past Honorary Secretary; Mrs. Omnia Hana; along with
Presidents and members of various Inner Wheel and Rotary Clubs.
At the close of the session, Ms. Nihal El-Bakry, Ms. Mona El-Saeed, and
Ms. Reem Nazih extended heartfelt thanks to Director Sameh Sand for his
invaluable participation and presented him with a token of appreciation.
