The Inner Wheel Clubs of Alexandria — Alexandria, Alexandria East, El
Nozha, Mediterranean, Cleopatra, and Capital — were honored to host
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abou Zeid, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, on
Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in an inspiring evening that beautifully
blended intellect and culture.
The event began with a warm welcome from Mrs. Rhoda El Shazly, President
of the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria, who greeted the presidents and
members of the participating clubs, distinguished guests, and the
esteemed delegation from the Library. Special mention was given to Mrs.
Sarah Sorour, Senior Public Relations Officer at the Director’s
Office.
The discussion was eloquently moderated by Mrs. Mona Aref, writer, Past
District Chairman, and a member of Inner Wheel Alexandria East. With
grace and depth, she highlighted Dr. Abou Zeid’s remarkable career,
his intellectual contributions, and his recent achievements.
The evening was further enriched by the presence of several esteemed
Inner Wheel leaders, including:
Mrs. Samia Hatata, Past District Chairman
Mrs. Nevine Abdel Rasoul, District Treasurer
Mrs. Amel El Ghitany, District Webmaster.
…along with dedicated members from all six participating clubs.
At the conclusion of the event, the club presidents presented a
commemorative gift to Dr. Ahmed Abou Zeid in appreciation of his
outstanding contributions. The evening concluded with group photos,
capturing the spirit of unity, appreciation, and shared cultural values.
