Inner Wheel Club of Amman Spreads Joy and Hope Among Children Living
with Epidermolysis Bullosa
The Inner Wheel Club of Amman organized a heartfelt group activity in
collaboration with the Butterfly Wings Foundation for Palliative Care,
Masarra Association, and the Haya Cultural Center, on Thursday, October
30, 2025, at the Haya Cultural Center. The event brought together 35
children living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and their families for a
day filled with joy, compassion, and meaningful connection.
This initiative was held as part of the global “Epidermolysis Bullosa
Awareness Week” (October 25–30), launched by Debra International to
raise awareness about this rare genetic condition and to promote
psychological and social support for patients and their families
worldwide.
The event was attended by Mrs. Shada Anabtawi Al-Khalil, President of
the Inner Wheel Club of Amman, and Mrs. Nuha Asfour, Editor for District
95 (Egypt & Jordan), along with several members of the Club’s
executive and general committees. Mrs. Farah Al-Sharif, President of the
Butterfly Wings Foundation, also participated, meeting the children,
learning about their stories, and listening to their wishes.
Members of Masarra Association, which is dedicated to fulfilling the
wishes of children with incurable illnesses, collected the children’s
wishes with the intention of helping make them come true in the near
future. In addition, the Club presented small gifts to the children to
bring smiles and happiness to their hearts.
The Haya Cultural Center team organized a series of recreational and
educational activities, including a planetarium show, art and drawing
sessions, and gentle physical exercises designed to suit the
children’s health conditions. The day concluded with a group lunch for
the children and their families.
The event was a moving expression of solidarity and empathy.
Participants expressed their admiration for the families’ patience and
unwavering dedication. Club President Mrs. Anabtawi Al-Khalil emphasized
that the experience inspired everyone to continue supporting this
cherished humanitarian cause with even greater determination and hope.
It is worth noting that the Butterfly Wings Foundation for Health Care
and Psychological Guidance is a non-profit charitable organization
dedicated to providing primary health care and palliative support to
patients living with Epidermolysis Bullosa. The Foundation also
represents Debra Jordan, part of Debra International, the global network
of over 50 national Debra organizations working to raise awareness and
improve the quality of life for those affected by EB worldwide.
