International Inner Wheel – Non-Profit Organization
Foundation & Structure
Inner Wheel is an international service organization founded by
Marguerite Golding in 1924 with a group of volunteer women. It operates
under a Constitution that defines its mission, structure (Clubs and
Districts), and values. Today, it is a modern, active, and dynamic
global network of women with over 1,000,000 members in 35 countries.
Mission & Values
Inner Wheel promotes friendship, service, and international
understanding. Its mission is to improve the lives of women and children
worldwide through voluntary service, compassion, and commitment. While
not a money-raising organization, each club selects its own charities
and projects. The organization emphasizes selflessness, dignity, and
support for humanitarian causes.
Operations

The Inner Wheel year runs from July 1st to June 30th.

The official language is English.
*
Clubs and districts follow specific procedures outlined in the
Constitution.
*
The Constitution is reviewed and amended every three years at the Inner
Wheel Convention.
Membership & Formation

A minimum of 10 active members is needed to form a club.
*
A district requires at least 4 clubs.
*
A national governing body requires a minimum of 2 districts.
*
Members can only belong to one club as active members.
*
There are honorary and honored active members (with or without voting
rights).
*
Clubs and districts must hold regular meetings to remain active.
Protocol & Standards
Inner Wheel follows a strict code of conduct and protocol to maintain
grace, dignity, and unity. Protocol includes moral rules, procedures,
and formal etiquette for meetings and events.
Growth & Training
The organization encourages the formation of new clubs (including
E-Clubs), revival of inactive ones, and internal expansion. Annual
training is required for all clubs, provided by the district or approved
trainers.
