Step Up and Lead by Example: A Cultural and Heritage Journey to Port
Said
On Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, and under the theme of the year “Step
Up and Lead by Example,” the Inner Wheel Club of Giza, under the
presidency of Mrs. Reem Nazih, organized a memorable and enriching trip
to the valiant city of Port Said.
The journey began with a visit to the renowned Ferial Garden, followed
by a stop at Al-Shohadaa Square, where members were introduced to the
historical significance of these iconic landmarks and captured
commemorative photos reflecting the beauty and spirit of the city.
The group then visited the “Hekayet Medina” Museum, where the
well-known Port Saidi blogger Mahmoud Feshara presented an engaging and
insightful narration on the history of Port Said since the opening of
the Suez Canal, adding depth and cultural value to the visit.
On the following day, members toured the Cathedral in the European
Quarter, followed by a leisurely city tour in horse-drawn carriages,
which added a charming traditional touch to the experience. The program
also included a visit to Port Fouad, where members enjoyed watching
migratory seagulls, explored the base of the De Lesseps statue, and
admired the iconic Suez Canal Authority Building, one of the city’s
most prominent landmarks.
Accommodation was at the Resta Hotel, uniquely located at the
northeastern tip of Africa and overlooking Port Fouad, situated on the
Arabian Peninsula in Asia—offering a rare and fascinating view that
brings two continents together in one remarkable setting.
It was truly an exceptional journey, rich in culture, history, and
enjoyment, and beautifully planned and organized under the guidance of
the beloved President, Mrs. Reem Nazih.
