Lighting the Pyramids Orange: A Landmark Stand for Inclusive Justice
The Orange Day Campaign on December 10, 2025, near the Egyptian Pyramids
marked a powerful conclusion to the 16 Days of Activism.National
Representative Samia Abou El Fetouh، District 95 Egypt & Jordan، Hanaa
El-Sadat joined by Inner Wheel members and women with disabilities to
shed light on gender-based violence and the additional barriers faced by
survivors with disabilities.
The campaign ran from November 25 to December 10, with coordinated
events across Egypt and Jordan, culminating in this symbolic gathering
at one of the world’s greatest landmarks.
The event emphasized the challenges women with disabilities face in
reporting violence, such as inaccessible services, stigma, and limited
access to justice. It called for stronger regional cooperation,
legislative reform, and reliable support systems ensuring timely
protection and credible recourse for survivors.
To ensure inclusion, the event provided sign language interpretation,
hearing support, and Braille and large-print materials. Confidential
reporting channels and on-site counselors offered private assistance for
those seeking help.
By illuminating the Pyramids in orange, the campaign transformed them
into a powerful message of solidarity—affirming a regional commitment
to protection, dignity, and inclusive justice for all women, especially
those with disabilities.
