NR Speech for the Centennial IW day in Cairo
The National Representative,
Mrs Nahla Qubain Sweiss Speech On The Celebration Of The Centennial
Anniversary in Cairo
D95 Egypt And Jordan
Saturday, 10/1/2024
Good morning, lovely people,
Dear Mona Abu Al-Fattouh District chairman
Respected members of the executive board
My fellow club presidents and friends
And every member of Inner Wheel District 95 / Egypt and Jordan
A special greeting and prayers to God to protect our dear friend Ninette
Sharara and grant her good health and speedy recovery.
I am pleased to be with you on this day, the centennial celebration of
Inner Wheel, with a large delegation from the three clubs of Jordan
specially present to celebrate this great occasion. This year is a
special year in the life of Inner Wheel, as it marks 100 years since its
founding on this day.
The first Inner Wheel club was founded in 1924 in Manchester, England,
by Margaret Golding, with the aim of providing a platform for women for
service and friendship. Initially as an extension of Rotary Clubs. Inner
Wheel clubs focused on charity work and gradually expanded their scope,
making a noticeable impact worldwide.
Over its 100-years history, these clubs have evolved into an
international organization present in over 100 countries, promoting
connections between women, advocating for social welfare, focusing on
projects, fundraising, and promoting good intentions.
Inner Wheel has left a lasting impact on various communities around the
world, empowering women in leadership and humanitarian efforts. “It’s a
commitment to service,” and “intimate friendship” remains at the
heart of the organization, leaving a legacy of compassion, solidarity,
and impactful change.
Celebrating the centenary is a great achievement. Serving as the
National Representative for District 95 / Egypt and Jordan during this
important year is very rewarding and enjoyable. I hope and wish that a
large number of members will join the celebrations in Manchester in May.
Happy 100th anniversary.
“Happy Centennial Year”
There is a special message from the International President Mrs. Trish
Douglas that I would like to read to you.
